Perfect fit for my sons trains

This 2-switch pack adds flexibility to your layout. You can make a reversing loop, or a siding with re-connection, or a shortcut inside loop, or 2 sidings. The manual switch is intuitive to use and clicks into place with a decent firmness. My 3yo granddaughter has little trouble using this switch, needing just a couple tries to get it all the way into place. As with all switches, your smoothest running is going "with the points": that is, passing over the non-moving end of the switch rails first, then passing over the moving end (the points) of the switch rails second. With any railroad switch the proof is in the points: that is, how well does the train stay on track when riding into the points? In 10 minutes' running, we had no derailments, entering the switch on the straight or on the curve. That is remarkable for such an inexpensive, easy-to-use switch. These switches are not auto-switching: if you enter the switch from the direction it's not set to, the switch will not automatically reposition its points to enable a smooth passage. These switches are also too firmly sprung to enable passive auto-switching: if you enter the switch from the direction it's not set to, the train will not push the points out of the way, and will tend to derail the train. Switches that do well at this are common in more expensive scales (Lionel Fastrack has auto-switching, for example), but those switches and their track systems are also 5x to 20x more expensive than Lionel Ready To Play.

Adding these switches to our track has given us options for a single track with loops at the ends and makes tighter track turns around corner’s too. We (my grandkids and I) have enjoyed adding these switches to our train adventures and you will to…..

Bought as additional track with the Harry Potter Train set for my grandchildren for Christmas and was a great hit!! Sturdy construction and won the kid tested best gift award! Easy to snap assemble, my 5 year old grandson puts it together regularly.

The track is great. My 4yr old enjoys flipping the switch to change track direction. My only issue is the way the track pieces snap together, it is difficult for a younger child to do on their own.

These switch tracks work well. We've used them to good effect to expand our layouts, even going from room to room. Derailing happens now and again but not so often as to detract from the fun. Make sure that the switch is fully to one side or the other to avoid trouble. Worth the purchase for us.

I really studied the reviews for this product. Several reviews stated that these only fit on a certain type of track. They would show a side by side comparison but I wasn’t sure which picture went with the product. I was really relieved when these matched ours. The tracks we use are the thicker ones in the side by side pictures. Very durable.

didn't quite fit the tracks my husband has from his Christmas trains (he was hoping.. he wants to add some variety to the lay outs...) but he thinks he might be able to modify it... we will see... lol... would have been perfect if he'd gotten the size right... they work well as far as the switching goes

There are only two pieces. This is not what is advertised. It’s hugely disappointing. Look at the photo. Two pieces of plastic.
