Like a lot of beginners to electronics I was fearful of soldering. I always looked for a "solderless" option but realized it was holding me back. After enjoying the Arduino starter kit I had high hopes for this small soldering kit so I picked it up. The accompanying website is extremely helpful with a mix of text, video and 3D animated tutorials (the latter of which is what mostly moves you through the projects). They are very well-done and high quality. I now wish I had gotten into soldering earlier as it is not as difficult as I had expected it to be. But this kit works you up slowly with first a practice project (making a non-electrical keychain) to a very simple "debug tool" (a basic LED and resistor on a tag) and then on to the full Arduino. It comes with spare parts in case something breaks and outside of the ICs, a lot of this stuff are things even a beginner in electronics would have laying around anyway. I highly recommend it!

This is a great kit to both learn and create fun projects with soldering

This is a good project and one that I would do again. Cons: Missing 16mhz crystal oscillator Capacitor values not on the board, otherwise the boards could be built without looking up the instructions. light instructions a couple parts were not obviously marked. Had to look the part numbers up. Pros: Excellent experience building and soldering with a fully functional Arduino in the end, not just blinking lights. The synthesizer is a great board to demonstrate and play with the Arduino, not just blinking lights. Built in a couple hours. Cardboard case is a nice touch.

If you are a beginner with soldering, then buy this package. I just started today(12/05), which was straightforward. I want to note that I bought some helping hands and soldering iron from Amazon to start this project. This product comes with detailed instructions on how to assemble everything(on their website).

I finished assembling the Uno together. It was a great experience, but don't buy it to learn soldering because it doesn't actually teach you how to solder. It is a good way to practice soldering but not to learn per se. Everything came well packaged, with high quality components and parts. So cool to have a working synthesizer at the end and I'm especially happy that I now own an Uno as it opens many doors for me in exploring electronics.

I absolutely loved this product! The only downfall to this product is the original price point, ~60 USD, without including a soldering kit. However, this is the first kit I have purchased that had zero issues. Every part was accounted for, including a generous amount of spare electronic components. Arduino's guide to putting together the Arduino, the synth shield, and the debug module is easy to follow and broken down phenomenally. I finished this project in a total of 6 hours, but I have not taken the time to write any of my own code. I really enjoyed putting together my UNO board even if every step was laid out. I highly recommend this product if you want to learn the basics of soldering, electronics, and Arduino programming. I would purchase this product again! Bonus points to Arduino for giving you a tutorial on soldering by making a cool keychain with electronic parts.

very good beginner project to get into electronics. My problem was that my kit was missing some components, so when I got to the part where it came to make the synthesizer i was not able to finish since my kit came with the wrong capacitors. Sad that I was not able to finish the entire project but overall if you get a kit with all the parts it is an amazing product.

Compré este kit para aprender a soldar componentes electrónicos e iniciarme en el mundo de Arduino. Las instrucciones de la web son muy claras y fáciles de seguir. Tener un soldador y estaño de calidad ha facilitado el montaje del kit.

This was a gift and when the person put it together, they didn't know that they shouldn't have removed two of the boards from the carriers. This made it difficult to mount the synthesizer when it was complete. Some screws, a bit of thinking and all is well. This is a very good kit for those interested in electronics. You end up with a working UNO and a working synthesizer. The UNO can be used for other projects if you want.

Sono neofita sia nella teoria che nella pratica ma sono riuscito a montare (con saldature nella maggior parte dei casi migliorabili) questo gingillo divertente. Bel kit tutto da esplorare. Ricordatevi che, una volta montato, occorre caricare lo sketch e che lo stesso può essere sostituito e modificato. Lo straconsiglio ma occorre o un minimo di pratica o un po' di attenzione. Non è né difficile né impossibile.
