“Ideal for reading aloud. Warning: it will be much-requested.” The Independent “Delightfully exuberant, this is a simple, glorious celebration of the differences and similarities between babies the world over” Observer *BOOKTRUST 100 BEST BOOKS 0-5* Nothing is sweeter, as everyone knows, than tiny baby fingers and chubby baby toes! All over the world, babies are different. Yet in some ways they are very much the same: each one has ten little fingers and ten little toes – to play with, to tickle, to wave. And each child is very, very special to its parents… With Mem Fox's gently rhyming text illustrated by internationally beloved artist Helen Oxenbury, illustrator of the classic nursery join-in picture books We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Oh Dear, Look What I Got! , Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes will fast become the essential book for baby playtime – and the perfect gift for a new arrival! “A true celebration of diversity that will engage parents and children alike.” Evening Standard “An instant classic ... there's real magic at work here.” Publisher’s Weekly “A perfect book for introducing young children to the music and rhythm of language and showing them how to read images.” Sunday Times Review: Wonderful. - I have purchased this book for all my grandchildren as babies, all who are a of different mixed race backgrounds. I repurchase it regularly for newborn babies as a gift. It’s a delightful little book. Perfect size for toddlers to hold with beautiful illustrations. Review: Beautiful illustrations, and simple but lovely story - This is one of my favourite books from my daughter’s babyhood. Not least because of the illustrations. The sketches of the babies in different landscapes are truly lovely, they are an absolute pleasure to look at. There’s lovely detail too, my daughter and I love searching for different objects together. There’s diversity in both the representation of the ethnicities of the babies and the different areas the children come from. It carries a lovely message (in an accessible way): that all babies are just as special as each other. The story is simple, repetitive and engages a perfectly paced rhyming sequence. It’s a joy to read and my daughter has loved listening to it, again, and again. And again. It has a sweetly interactive ending; I’m sure many parents all over have counted their sweet little baby’s ten little fingers, ten little toes and planted three little kisses on the tip of their nose - a real highlight of the book for my daughter and always accompanied by lots of giggles. It is a true classic and I don’t say this lightly - I feel any baby’s book collection would be lacking without it!

A great book for babies
A lovely rhyme with lots of repetition. Clear illustrations which enhance the text. I bought this as a board book so that my grandson, 10 months, can help to turn the pages. When I received it I felt that it was a bit twee and cutsie so almost didn't gift it but his parents are delighted with it and I think that it just shows that the classic baby books are still very relevant. As he gets older there'll be opportunity to talk more about the pictures and count the babies on each page so there's good value in this book.

Fun repetitive book for toddlers
Delightful book, lovely illustrations. I’m sure it will be read many times over my Grandson’s early years.
