There are two A5 instruction sheets inside the box, one in English, one in German. The watch is easy to set up. You merely hold down the Mode button for about 5 seconds, then use the Adjust button to set the correct hour then the correct minute. I made sure to set the minute at the same time as a minute was updated on my radio-controlled clock. I have had the watch for about 3 weeks. It has kept excellent time, the minute on the watch being updated at the same time as the minute on the radio-controlled clock. Apparently, the watch runs on two CR2032 batteries, which you change yourself if you have a small screwdriver. The strap is black plastic, quite thick, and quite wide. I find it comfortable. I received my watch for less than £17 poiunds, and it seems excellent value for the price. Note that it is not waterproof. The face is not illuminated, so it can be quite hard to read in bad light. The time is not displayed permanently. When you press either the Mode or Adjust button to obtain the time, the LEDs remain lit for 6 seconds before turning off again. Initially, this can be too short to determine what the time is, but you soon learn to use tricks. For example, if the 32 minute LED is not illuminated, but all of the LEDs to the right of it are illuminated, then the minute must be 32-1 = 31. Again, if the 8 minute LED is not lit, but all others are, then the minute must be 63-8 = 55. Other reviewers have said that they have received comments from other people who see it in use. No-one has yet commented on my watch, but I use it strictly as a watch rather than as a conversation piece. I enjoy using the watch and wear it whenever there is little likelihood of rain. I am glad that I bought it.

It's a nice watch and it arrived in really good time (I used amazon's free shipping). My experience mirrored other reviewers - when setting the watch the instructions say it flashes, but it did not for me. It was fine though, if you are bright enough to have a binary watch you're probably bright enough to set it. My only negative comment may not come as a surprise - this watch is unisex but leans more towards men. As a female I have to have the watch on the smallest loop and it looks HUGE on my wrist - I will probably make a new strap for it at some point. There's no doubt people will notice I have this on which isn't the subtle look I was going for when I bought it. If there was a female version I'd recommend that to other women thinking of buying this, but alas there is not (unsurprisingly!) Overall it's a nice watch and has a neat, sleek look.

The watch is so comfortable to wear and quite light weight too. I always seek geeky (or bright coloured) watches, no inbetweens. Get digital scores extremely high on my geekometer and I love the reaction from friends. It's a great conversation piece and I love wearing and using it.

Purchased this item as a joke gift for my girlfriend. I have been studying a Foundation Degree in Computer Science and have been boring her with the details of what i have learnt over the past couple of years. She seemed intrigued by the way in which computers functioned using the binary system so decided to get this for her. Its brilliant for people who are beginning to learn how to convert binary to decimal (although you may be waiting a while for an answer when you first ask them what the time is!). The top section of lights on the face of the watch are for the hour and the bottom set for the minutes. This watch will also fit people with larger wrists so its ideal for anyone really.

Brilliant watch. Still learning to tell the time on it but it gets a good reaction when other people see you tell the time with it! The write up says its best for people who already understand binary. I disagree. It doesn't take long to understand. My only pointer would be is that the instructions say the lights will flash when setting the time whereas they actually don't, took me a while to realise but don't let this put you off buying it as I've told you now!

It's cool, but I can't understand why it keeps loosing time. I'll be clicking it to check the time, and it always seems off. Currently 5min slow at the moment, so I'm going to have to change it again, which I've lost count how times I've done, but feel like I'm an expert now.

The watch would not go into setting mode no matter how long you held the mode, button so the time could not be set. After replacing the battery the watch wouldn't even display the time regardless of whether it was correct. Leaving aside the fact that the watch was faulty, battery replacement is awkward with a clip that is tricky to release and feels flimsy. I know you can't expect much for the price, but a watch that worked might have been a start!

When I first received the watch, I had typed out the review you can find below. Unfortunately, the watch broke quite quickly - not sure how long, I'd say 2-4 weeks. I know it's only about 30 quid but that's very soon. The watch still functions, but the face fell off, and it doesn't look right without that (obviously!). There are no other 2-star reviews at time of writing. Maybe mine was the only one that broke. Maybe they were written upon first receipt before it broke. I don't know, but I like this watch enough that I will try ONE MORE TIME and hopefully this one will not break ... 'I love this watch. I've worn it for a few days, and I'm delighted. I can't speak to the long term quality as I have only had it for a few days. It seems good enough quality on a superficial level anyway. I'm very glad that someone makes this watch though! I picked it after looking at a lot of binary watches on Amazon and decided this was the best one for me. Definitely only for people who are familiar with binary or someone who really wants to learn it (or who want a cool watch that doesn't tell the time!) - an electronic engineering degree helps me for sure. Getting to the point, it just looks so cool on my wrist. I keep checking the time just to see the face turn red and so I can work out the decimal time from the binary. And already someone has asked me the time after spotting it, naturally a good conversation starter. Basically it's what I hoped it would be. I hope it doesn't break or anything like that. It comes with easy to follow instructions on how to set the time using the two buttons. Note that it doesn't give 24hr time, it does 12 hr. As in, 5pm is 5 rather than 17. This is because there are 4 bits for the hours (max. 16). And the minutes are 8 bits. Don't expect it to go through all 8 bits obviously, 2^8 is 64, there are only 60 minutes. This caught me off guard at first which is why I'm sharing. Anyway, I have no complaints yet.'

Quería hacer un regalo pero que no fuera lo típico, y como mi amigo es informático, y sabía que le podrían gustar este tipo de cosas, me animé a mirar relojes binarios. El problema de estos relojes es que hay muchos y muy baratos, y no sabes si puedes fiarte de la calidad. Si hubiera sido para mi a lo mejor probaba con el de 3 €, pero siendo para regalo, al final hice lo que suelo hacer cuando tengo dudas, me fui a amazon.con y alli este reloj es el más vendido de estos modelos, tiene un montón de opiniones positivas, y por este motivo aunque el precio es más alto que el de otros, me decidí a comprarlo. Sobre el reloj, había leído opiniones que decían que para hombre era algo pequeño, a mi no me lo ha parecido. Es muy ligero, pero mucho, y el diseño es muy cool, si bien hay que tener en cuenta que es un complemento evidentemente friki. Importante destacar que para leer la hora debes pulsar el botón de encendido y las luces permanecen unos 5-6 segundos encendidas, después se apaga. No estaría de más que tuviera posición encendido/apagado de los leds, en lugar de un tiempo prefijado en que éstos se mantienen iluminados. Con la práctica es suficiente margen, pero al principio alguien que no esté muy acostumbrado al sistema binario tendrá que encenderlo un par de veces para sumar los minutos. Este es un reloj binario de verdad, con 4 leds para las horas (8 / 4 / 2 / 1) y 6 leds para los minutos (32 / 16 / 8 / 4 / 2 / 1), a partir de cuyos valores mediante sumas sacas todas las horas y minutos del día, que es donde le van a ver la gracia todos aquellos que entiendan el sistema. Lo digo porque me parece que hay otros modelos que venden como binarios, pero lo que hacen es meter 12 luces para las horas y 59 para los minutos, y no se trata de eso, simplemente son relojes leds, con otro diseño, más o menos bonitos y llenos de luces, pero nada de binario…. Por otro lado, gracias a que las luces están apagadas la mayor parte del tiempo, las pilas durarán una eternidad. La configuración no es literalmente como se indica en las instrucciones, en ellas se dice que pulsando durante 2 segundos el botón correspondiente, las luces parpadean y en ese momento ajustas la hora. En realidad, si parpadean lo hacen de manera apenas perceptible, a simple vista siguen encendidas de manera normal. Con lo que, en la práctica, simplemente pulsas el botón superior, cuentas dos segundos y directamente ajustas la hora con el otro botón. Vuelves a pulsar el botón superior y pasas a ajustar los minutos…. En fin, a mi amigo le ha encantado, tiene reloj para muchos años, y por este precio, lo recomiendo. Un saludo.

Irgendwie habe ich ein Ding für "ungewöhnliche Uhren" (zB Uhren, die spiegelverkehrt sind, etc.) und als meine bisherige Armbanduhr (mit integriertem Taschenrechner) kaputt gegangen war, bin ich auf der Suche nach einem Nachfolger über diese Uhr gestolpert. Ich fand das Prinzip der binären Anzeige sehr cool und als Informatiker dachte ich mir, das könnte eine gute alltägliche Übung sein, um mein Binärlesen aufzufrischen. Die Uhr kam pünktlich und in einem liebevoll verpackten Paket mit "Nerd Stuff" an, was ich schon mal sehr cool fand! Auch dass die Batterie schon enthalten war, war super praktisch. Das Design der Uhr gefällt mir sehr gut, da die aufgedruckten "Adern" auch bei ausgeschaltetem Licht sehr cool aussehen. So wirkt die Armbanduhr nicht unbedingt wie eine Uhr, sondern wie ein Armband aus einem Science Fiction Film, mit dem man Türen öffnet oder so :D Das Armband fühlt sich auch schön geschmeidig an und liegt gut am Handgelenk. Das Ablesen der Uhr bedarf natürlich ein wenig Übung, da im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen Versionen hier keine Zahlen aufgedruckt sind, sondern man selber wissen muss, welchen Wert jede Stelle hat. Anfangs habe ich wirklich die vollen 3 Sekunden gebraucht, während dessen die Punkte aufleuchten, um die Uhrzeit "umrechnen" zu können, aber inzwischen (ca. 4 Monate später) geht es schon auf einen Blick relativ genau. Zu guter Letzt lässt sich noch sagen, dass die Uhr bei vielen Leuten erst einmal Verwunderung auslöst, was schon zu einigen tollen Gesprächen geführt hat - und als jemand, der bei Smalltalk ein riesen Problem bei der Themenfindung hat, fand ich das echt hilfreich :D Alles in allem eine sehr coole Uhr!
