Well Finished Quality Piece of Furniture
We needed another guest bed and decided to go with a futon for the flexibility they provide between being a couch or a bed. I didn't like the futon/mattress combo's that provide so-so mattresses with their futons. I found this finished frame and ordered a separate futon mattress with coil springs also found on Amazon for a good price with good reviews. The frame arrived strapped to a pallet in good shape. This frame is made in Indonesia; Viet Nam I believe. It's made from rubber trees (sorry, I didn't look up the species name) that where previously bulldozed and burned after the trees quit producing rubber latex. Now the plantations are cut and milled into furniture grade lumber. The wood is hard, light colored with little grain and is lightly stained with a clear finish. The construction and finish is above average and built to last. All joints are true and well glued. The assembly instructions are decent and step by step. It took me about 45 minutes to put it together. I was able to put it together myself but I'm fairly handy. If your a novice, you may need some help. The futon is well designed and is easily converted to a bed or a couch in the upright position. I haven't slept in it yet but there is no wobble to the frame.

TOP QUALITY REAL WOOD FURNITURE for EXCELLENT PRICE, EASY ASSEMBLY, DURABLE, BEAUTIFUL
TOP QUALITY REAL WOOD FURNITURE for EXCELLENT PRICE, EASY ASSEMBLY, DURABLE, BEAUTIFUL Two packages arrived on two different days, several days apart. Some concerning damage to external packaging, but ZERO DAMAGE of actual product, everything was there (plus some extras they send in case you lose one), went together quickly, easily, and securely. This is the second full size futon sofa frame we've bought from Nirvana off Amazon, and we also bought a Nirvana 36 inch by 36 inch by 12" high coffee table to go with it. The first Nirvana full size futon sofa frame we bought also came with a set of drawers and flip-out end-table platforms. It's more than 6 years old now, still strong and beautiful as the day we first set it up. This new futon sofa frame (and "upside-down pyramid" coffee table) are every bit as durable, beautiful, easy to assemble, consistently good quality, beauty, shipping, can't say enough good things about a company like Nirvana.

Really nice/quality frame
This was the nicest couch-type wood futon frame with good reviews for the price that I could find. Came in two boxes. We also ordered an 8" innerspring futon mattress. Assembly was involved but straightforward. Instructions were clear. All the parts and tools were provided. The quality of construction couldn't have been better. The finish was perfect. The frame functions fine without the mattress - three settings; chair, recline, bed. The only complication is that the mattress, while being surprisingly comfortable to sit and sleep on, is somewhat heavy. I believe the weight of the mattress affects the function of the futon action when trying to fold it from bed to chair. Doing this requires two of us - one in front, one in back. This is reasonable because most people would likely get a thinner/lighter mattress that should be much easier to fold. I also imagine a metal frame might not have had this issue. Overall, I couldn't be happier. Nice piece of furniture.

Well Made; Manual Leaves out Mention of Rubber Grommets
Well-made and well-finished from a tough, fairly hard wood with a fairly thorough and easy to follow instruction sheet. However, my instructions left out any mention of the large rubber grommets than fit in the bed-frame and fit in grooves in the arms to facilitate the sliding mechanism of the futon. I had to reverse several steps to put them in. Not a big deal, but a glaring omission in the instructions. It looks great, though, and opens nicely. The seat angle is a tad more acute than I'd like, but Ok. Note several people have said this is "hard to open" or "hard for one person to make into a bed." There is a foolproof method: face the futon, lift up on the leading edge of the seat, and tug forward. The futon thus transforms into a bed very easily. If you try to do this from the back or side, you'll fail, because the seat is locked in place with little saw-tooth shaped bumpers. Lifting up on the seat and tugging forward removes the bumpers from the equation, and one person can make this into a bed in about six seconds.

This is a very nice frame. The wood looks really nice
This is a very nice frame. The wood looks really nice, seems really solid, and if you get a nice mattress on this, it can actually look much nicer than some of the cheaper couches that you'll find. I bought two of these, one queen, one full. Outside of the size, they're basically the same except the queen size has these little swiveling wood pieces that come down in bed mode to add extra support. The bed is pretty easy to assemble. It takes maybe 30 minutes to and hour with two people depending on how much you have to look at the instructions. My only minor warning is that because this product is basically all wood, there's not really anything that snaps or truly locks the bed into a mode. While you're not going to accidentally change the futon into bed mode while sitting down on it, this does mean that there's a little play in it. We didn't compensate for this and put it almost directly up against the wall, and it peeled some paint off. So, just make sure you have it a good inch or two away from the wall. It was totally our fault, but just wanted to put it out there to warn people of making the same mistake.

Arrived broken, broke even more.
The futon frame arrived with a crack that I hoped wouldn't affect stability. Thankfully, that crack didn't. However, after a month of use the futon frame completely broke (see photo). This caused the bottom left of the futon frame to crash onto the floor. It is now entirely unusable. If you order anyway and are lucky to get a futon frame that doesn't outright fall apart, be warned that it takes 2-3 adults to get ours from the bed position back to the couch. Nobody wants to be the person with the faulty product leaving a bad review. Buying this futon appears to be a crapshoot and ours certainly ended up being crap. Better luck to you!
