The phenomenon continues as "Breaking Bad" hits a stunning new height with its most suspenseful season yet! In his multiple Emmy® Award-winning role, Bryan Cranston stars as Walter White, a one-time mild-mannered chemistry teacher whose transformation into a deadly criminal kicks into overdrive in the explosive fourth season. As his young accomplice Jesse (Aaron Paul in his Emmy® Award-winning role) turns increasingly distant and hostile, Walt must deal with his estranged wife (Anna Gunn), his relentless DEA Agent brother-in-law (Dean Norris), and the ruthless kingpin manipulating the entire operation (Giancarlo Esposito) - culminating in a bombshell season finale that will leave you speechless. Executive produced by Vince Gilligan, Mark Johnson and Michelle MacLaren. Review: one of the best series ever made for TV - Much has already been said by other people on the site so there's little to add. The entire concept is unusual but very possible and makes for a fascinating study of the human nature. The acting could not be bettered. There are no weak members of the cast. The metamorphosis of the star character, brilliant Chemistry teacher Walter White, from the loving husband and father and quiet but diligent Chemistry teacher at the local school, to an increasingly hardened master chef of top quality methamphetamine to murderous drug lord is achieved in masterly form by Bryan Cranston. The script is superb and the evolving plot brilliant. This really is TV at its best and it totally eclipses most of what Hollywood produces. The series has a real moral message as Walt destroys his entire family to be what he wants to be regardless of the consequences. Was it really worth it Walt? If there is any complaints at all it concerns the almost farce like end to one key personality and the almost too neatly finessed end to Series 6. Nonetheless, this is superb TV that even the BBC at its very best would struggle to rival. Well done US, this is worth more than 5 stars and proves the US has great script writers and actors to rank alongside the world's best. The best show on TV gets better
I cannot tell a lie. There were times during season 3 when my attention wavered slightly. No chance with season 4. *spoilers ahead* Following Jesse's murder of Gail at the end of season 3, season 4 is entirely dominated by the increasingly tense relationship between crime lord Gus and his unwanted but irreplaceable cooks - Walter and Jesse. The season tracks Jesse's reaction to the murder and the pair's imminent deaths - Aaron Paul has never been better. And the balance of power shifts subtly and delightfully over the course of the season. Walt's journey is brilliantly handled, hugely believable and Cranston is utterly compelling. And while all of this is going on, Hank is recovering from his shooting and is on the scent (and getting closer all the time). Without ever losing sight of plausibility, they keep cranking the handle and it just goes from strength to strength. There is only one reason not to buy season 4 - and that's because season 5 isn't yet available to buy (hasn't even been finished in the US) so your life will be utterly bereft once you get to the final episode. Apart from that, you need Breaking Bad in your life

One of the best seasons of anything ever.
Seriously one of the best seasons of television I've ever seen and I have seen the Sopranos, the Wire, Mad Men etc. How they can just keep making breaking bad get better and better is beyond me. It was brilliant right from the start but form there each season has got better and better. By season 4 Breaking Bad is a show that is as exciting and pulse-racing as something like 24 or any block-buster action movie and as thoughtful and introspective as the sopranos. Proof that television can, at its best, truly be considered 'art'. Everything in breaking bad is exceptional from the writing, direction and plot however the stand-out praise must go to its two lead-actors, Bryan Cranston (perhaps the greatest actor around at the moment, not just on TV) and Aaron Paul as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Two characters the started out a comedy odd-couple have become one of the most complex relationships I have ever seen in a work of fiction. Their love/ hate co-dependent relationship is astonishing and breath-taking to watch as the go from killing to save each other to nearly killing each other. Phenomenal TV and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. You are truly missing out if you do not watch this show.

An Amazing Series only let down by content which is missing from the disc
Unlike most shows, where by the fourth season a lot of the magic that had existed in previous series is lost or somewhat reduced, Breaking Bad continues to get better with each season. An absolutely amazing series of a phenomenal show, series 4 sees the conflict between Gus and Walter come to a head. However whilst the series itself is top notch, this dvd box set is somewhat disappointing to someone who owns the other 3 series on dvd/blu-ray. The box sets of seasons 1-3 featured audio commentary from the cast and crew on numerous episodes with each season offering more and more episodes that have been commentated over. This commentary is often very funny, especially the comments made by Bryan Cranston (actor who plays Walter White). It is also very informative, offering another level of information to those who are interested in hearing how scenes were shot etc. Unfortunately this series features no audio commentary on any of the episodes, now you may be asking "why is this missing content" and the reason is that on the American version of the DVD box set every single episode features audio commentary. I have to ask why this was included in the American discs when it was not included in our version. However whilst I would have liked to listen to these commentaries I am aware that most people won't listen to them and if you are one of these people I can whole heartedly recommend this product, as the series itself is still outstanding. But if, like me, you are someone who enjoys listening to audio commentary then I suggest finding another way to purchase this series, whether that is by importing it or downloading it on iTunes, because the commentaries do exist, just not on the UK DVD box set.

Brilliant brilliant show on every level!
I watched seasons 1-3 over Christmas and absolutely loved this show. The writing is superb and the actors are all fantastic. I watch all of the extras on these DVDs and enjoy the behind the scenes stuff and finding out more from the production side of how the show is actually put together. Skyler White put on a bit of weight between season 3 and 4 and initially I found this a bit distracting as the show runs as if there were no break, but the storylines are so good that I forgot about it really. It's quite funny to see clips of the first season again as the characters travel so far together and the viewers do too. I think I'm going to watch them all again before season 5 comes out in June so I get the full journey before the end. The price of this DVD was the best on Amazon.

Amazing DVD, Just watched the first episode. Officially addicted to BB
This item only took a day to arrive. Amazingly fast! Very strongly packaged and came with a nice free membership to LoveFILM :D Upon opening, the item is brand new and sealed along with the delivery note inside. I unpackage the item to find a very nice slipcase for the DVD, and the DVD box itself inside the slipcase. Overall, I highly recommend purchasing this item as it is very good and the episodes are breathtaking and have you hanging on the edge of your seat wanting to see what happens next. I must warn you, Once you start watching, it's rather hard to stop. Highly addictive! Update: 21st January 2013: Just over half way through this series, the tension between Jesse and Walt grows and skylar finds it more and more difficult to keep Walt's dark secret safe from Walt Jr. Highly recommend to all. Cannot wait to watch the last 6 episodes and pre order Season 5.

My Obsession
My addiction to this series is no different from the addiction of the methamphetamine users who are the consumers that main character Walter White supplies. Take a lifelong nerdy high school chemistry teacher, make him go off the deep end when he is given two years to live, throw every crazy unimaginable problem someone who cooks meth can have at him and you have something so suspensefull you can't tear your eyes away. Lead actor Bryan Cranston's wrinkled face and perpetually horror stricken expression supplies the backdrop to some truely gruesome yet fascinating situations. This character wallows in deception and immorality, lying continually to those he loves, never giving a moments thought to what he is actually doing to contribute to the misery of the addicts he is supplying. Any thoughts of right and wrong are strangely lacking in this man. And yet, his friends and family continue to see him as a good and decent fellow. His wife finally must accept that he is a constant liar and up to no good but gets sucked into his greed. All the acting is great in this. From Walter's wife Skylar, who starts out as naive and moral and quickly succumbs to join her husband in his persuit of money, to DEA agent Hank, who although good at his job is obnoxious consistently in his forced, crude insulting humor, to his wife Marie who has amusing episodes of kleptomania, each character is fleshed out and interesting. Sleazy shyster Saul Goodman (s'all good man) provides comic relief. Son Walt Jr. provides the one character that remains pure, in contrast to his parents. Never have I seen anything that threw at the characters so many horrific dangerous situations simultaneously. Danger comes at Walter from every possible place. His life becomes a juggling act of lies, violence, drug cartel murderers, and greed. While it was baffling to see this lifelong good guy turn into such a cold violent monster so easily, it was fun to see him squeek by continually as he walked the criminal tightrope between life, prison, and death. There were lots of glaring instances of ridiculous improbability at the end of the last episode which unfortunately I can't reveal here or it would spoil it for people who haven't yet seen it. These instances were disappointing to me, as up until then this show had been pretty believable, without too many loose ends. One concerns reporting to work at a drug lab in plain view of lots and lots of people and not expecting to get caught as well as leaving your car parked in front of it every day. Season Five begins next month. Hopefully you will be caught up with all the Season Four episodes by then because each episode is a continuation of the last. As for me, I can't wait to see where this picks up. Will Walter continue his drug making? How will he get it sold? What will happen to his partner? This is the best TV dramatic serial of all time in my opinion.

Great Series. Good casting. Full of suspense
Great series and the season 4 is no different. The Breaking Bad series keeps you guessing right though and is filled with suspense. Great direction, casting and story telling. The price for this DVD set was a steal.

Devastante!
Extra in buon numero e sempre interessanti.

Enorme Bryan Cranston.
