I am a biomedical engineering student who is doing linear algebra without really understanding the manipulations I am performing on my datasets. Out of curiosity, I decided that I was going to learn the method to the matrix operations and this book was abundantly clear. Lots of proofs and corollaries that give insight to the origin of the operations. Will be lending this book to my peers when I am done with it!

Bought it for school, came in perfect condition. As far as the content in the book I wish that the concepts and theorems were more clearly differentiated from other content in the book; consequently everything is just sort of jumbled together. But other than that it's a good book!

smells bad and cheap paper

I am sure that it is a wonderful book on a subject at least a thousand other books exist. The book that made Paul Halmos world famous on the same subject, for example, is 12 dollars here on Amazon. A quick comparison of the table of contents suggests that the coverage is very similar. Unfortunately, many people are buying this book not because they chose to, but because someone else made the choice for them.

This is one of those textbooks that at full price the hardcover is just ridiculously expensive. If it weren’t for this cheaper paperback version I would be recommending using some other textbook. This is a good book that has rigorous treatment of linear algebra. This is one area that US PhD students are often weak in, and this book would certainly set them straight. I bought mine from a company that sells through Amazon (not Amazon directly.) well, the first copy I ordered somehow never came. They were quick to respond and send me a new copy. I just wish they are shipping speeds were a little faster.

Excellent content, the copy I received was the international paperback edition. The publisher info page at the front was glued to the acknowledgement page.

El papel y la impresión es de una calidad media pero lo importante es el contenido. Su portada también es muy bonita y es mucho más barato que en otras versiones.

Un libro más que excelente para aprender Álgebra Lineal. Creo el costo vale la pena por el contenido.

Libro version economica.... tanto que degrada la calidad del papel e impresion, lo necesito, me lo tendre que quedar.
