The best pedal bin!!
I have always used pedal bins and one tends to find that the lever pins have a tendency to either snap or disconnect after quite a short time. However, the Addis bin has a clip beneath the lid which attaches to the pedal lever device which can unclip to enable you to open the lid further and then reattaches itself to the pedal clip once the lid is closed - brilliant! Additionally, the bin itself is very light in weight, takes a lot of rubbish (like a friend of mine lol) and is easy to clean. I truly believe I'll have this bin for a number of years. I'll be sure to do a follow up review if this is not the case. Happy clappy.

Nice cheap but perfectly functional pedal bin.
It amazed me how much trouble me and my partner had to find a good bin until we found this one. Unfortunately, in our kitchen, the only sensible place for a bin is under a counter. We knew we wanted a pedal bin for hygiene reasons. We drove around all sorts of supermarkets, department stores, DIY stores looking for something suitable but most bins are just too tall, they'd fit under the counter but don't have enough space for the lid to open. This bin is a little bit is shorter but wider than most which means no problems using it under a counter. The capacity is better than most other bins, 30L seems typical, so 50L is a good size and means less emptying. To assemble you just have to clip the lid onto the main body of the bin. Don't worry about clipping it to the pedal mechanism, that automatically engages when the lid closes. A press of the pedal raises the lid to about 45 degrees which is more than enough for 95% of my needs, if you need the lid higher, you can raise it by hand from a closed position and it will stay fully open. Before this, we had a fancy dandy automatic bin which opens when you wave your hand in front of it. Honestly, an old fashioned pedal is far better, there is no delay to open, it doesn't open when you just walk past it and it doesn't close when your half way through scraping a plate. Depending on your floor and what's behind the bin you might find the bin slides backwards ever so slightly whenever you press the pedal. You could live with this and simply move the bin back to its normal position. What I did was pour in a couple of inches of mixed floor levelling compound into the empty bin, and allow it to set to add some weight. I also added a few non-slip rubber feet. This isn't necessary but it does eliminate the only bugbear I have with the product. I'm not marking the item down any stars for this as I think the bin is fairly priced, taking this minor issue into consideration. Wow, did I really just write all of that about a simple bin? Perfectly acceptable bin - and good value
This is a perfectly acceptable bin that should last for many years. The plastic feels sturdy and I can't imagine any circumstance under which the main part of the bin should break. Perhaps the foot pedal might snap or the lever which opens the lid might stop working - but I imagine that it won't be for many years. The only thing that stops this from being a great bin is that the lid only opens about 45 degrees. I would have preferred a bin lid that opened until it was nearly vertical so that I could chop and drop bits right over it. As it only opens 45 degrees, I have to reach slightly under the lid in order to drop things in.

Fantastic product for the price and cannot be overfilled
Love it!! Just the fact that with the lid (closed) being level with the top of the bin, it cannot be overfilled. No more struggling to pull out a crammed bin bag whilst trying not to lose any of the balanced overfilled rubbish. Makes the kid stop adding to it when it's full. Very easy to clean and keeps the smells away.

I have looked everywhere for the perfect bin for our new and lovely kitchen
I have looked everywhere for the perfect bin for our new and lovely kitchen. Great for the reasons described by all other customers, I just wished the shape was more 'regular'square, and looking less like the BIG bin we all have outside our houses including the back wheel. I am suggesting this to Simplehuman since they have a LOT of models out there, since the quality of their products is great and since there is a gap in designs in this sense/opportunity for them to get out another model-and send me a new one too.

Highly recommended
Really great value. Wasn’t expecting it to be as good but cannot fault it. Fits loads in, practical, not too wide and took just 30 seconds to assemble

Not super sturdy
The bin has a very good size and looks nice. Unfortunately, the top is not very sturdy and the opening mechanism is kind of flimsy. But overall an ok product. Don't know if I would by it again, though.

Does the job, happy with it.
The lid doesn't open very high with the pedal, just sort of 45 degrees from horizontal at most. It is possible to pull on the lid manually to open it further if required though, and also possible to pull it enough so it stays wide open. You then just need to drop the lid back down (manually again) and it will close, and the pedal system will set itself again and work fine the next time you press the pedal (but again, with limited angle of opening). Happy with it though, does the job. Note that it doesn't have an inner removable hard bin, like some other models do. You have only one hard shell in which you need to put a bin bag. If you don't put a bin bag you will need to lift the whole bin upside down to empty it. Hope that makes sense.

Etwas wacklig!
