I installed these 12 months ago and to my amazement they really work. I couldn't justify purchasing another reel of CAT5. (Well I thought I couldn't anyway) And so I needed to splice two pieces together outside and in the middle of a ditch. This is the type of situation I try to avoid if at all possible. But after some research I discovered this product and decided to try it. From the picture you can see that the CAT5 is outdoor grade. But I fished it through some plastic waterline for extra protection. A piece of drain pipe from an old kitchen sink made a decent "joiner" for the water line. The " Waterproof RJ45 Coupler" is safely inside this junction. For some projects you need to get it right the first time. I purchased the 3-pack and ended up using two of them. The second one is above ground hanging in a lean-to. I've experienced no problems with it either. Please be very careful to not over-twist the couplers because there is a silicone seal or o-ring that may squeeze itself out of place. You'll need to familiarize yourself with the product prior to installation. Overall I'd say it was worth the gamble and worthy of my trust. What a great solution!

These waterproof RJ45 couplers are excellent for outdoor network connections. The IP68 rating means they're truly waterproof and the connection is solid. Great for outdoor ethernet runs.

Please CAT5 cable connections are a must if you are running wire outside the home that is subject to the weather. They are made with high quality materials and assemble easily. I used 2 of them on a security camera install and they work great. These connectors have a excellent water seal on them and they look like they are also UV resistant. So if you're running CAT5 externally that is exposed to weather especially moisture get yourself a set of these you won't be sorry.

Needed a temporary fix to a run in a tree after the arborists chopped the cable. This worked fantastic until we can replace the cable completely. Download/upload speeds are running at peak performance! Product arrived quickly, in good condition, and at the right price. Highly recommended.

No complaints with the actual internals or the cable seal, very malleable silicone and definitely a good seal. My complaint is that the same super soft silicone was used for the thread seals too- even tightening lightly can squeeze the seal out and introduce a leak point. I wound up e-taping mine just to be sure the seal didn't squeeze out later.

Works perfectly with junction boxes that have 3/4" outlets. I use some burial rated, shielded network cabling for exposed portions. The great thing about a setup like this, is while there may be SOME exposed or otherwise unprotected cabling, and in turn there is flexibility in placement and mounting of the camera. And, worst case scenario would mean having to re-do a small portion of cabling. So... do you want flexibility, or not? After considering other reviews, I can say the way I'm using these plugs is distinctly different. I am not submersing anything under water, but I am using it to protect cabling from rain and the elements. One thing I know, is even if something is rated as waterproof, I'm not going to trust it to go as others would think. Waterproof the waterproofing. Sounds redundant, but maybe take some time to consider best practices against your method. In the same vain, I wouldn't trust using it as a junction box connector in a place where water can collect, like on the ground. I know I'll be buying more of these, because I can find comprable solution at a cheaper price as of yet.

The female ends and both turned the same way and that is correct. It took me awhile to figure that out.

Very pleased with the quality and durability of these. I ran an extensive length of cat6 about 10 inches below the surface of the grass. I had a few connection points I wanted to be sure were sealed from water/rain and exposure to outside and these are perfect.

Ho avuto l'occasione di installare l'accoppiatore in un pozzetto dove era presente quello interno con protezione da nastro isolante.. un vero schifo.. tramite l'intersezione ho finalmente risolto sia il problema del restringimento che di umidità passi praticamente 0. Consiglio di utilizzare cavi di rete con doppia guaina per uso esterno e plug cat6 con gommino per una lunga durata. TUTTO PERFETTO!! Grazie
