Q: are the lipsticks wrapped?

If you mean wrapped in plastic, not the one I received, and I gave my answer before about how I felt about the lipstick and I think that it must have been cold and the lipstick did'nt seem to go on smooth, however that has changed and it is going on smooth. i love the color. Hope this helps.

Q: Has anyone tried the purple does it look nice on brown skin

I am what I consider a medium brown person of color. And this lipstick is my favorite color. It looks like a really dark brown on my lips. However if I wear bright red it seams to clash. This is definitely a great color for brown skin.

Q: If I wanted to wear this on my upper lip only, would it smudge on my bottom lip?

Yes, I did this exact thing, and it definitely smudged on my bottom lip. I was wearing a light color on the bottom lip but I would think if it's a slightly darker color you could probably get away with it.
