A great steering wheel
I bought this because I wanted a wheel to replace my crappy and broken thrustmaster 5 in 1 universal wheel. I was a little worried about buying another thrustmaster but this one was more expensive and had better reviews so I decided to go for it. The best thing about this wheel is that it works for allot of good driving games on PS3 as well as most on PC as well. The games I use it on are.... Midnight club LA (PS3) which is fantastic fun Need for speed shift (PS3) which also works great Euro truck sim 2 (PC) requires lots of setting tweaks but works well when set up properly Driver San Francisco (PC) works fine , though shifting is a pain lol Test drive unlimited 2 (PC) hard to get the sensitivity right but technically it works fine Im also pretty sure it works with Dirt 3 for pc/PS3 but I havent tested it myself yet As for the physical product, it was well packaged , arrived pretty quickly and works perfectly. Its a nice size, the wheel feels nice to turn and requires a decent level of force. The wheel also has a home button for PS3 which is extremely helpful as you dont have to have another ps3 controller switched on to bring up the PS menu's. The pedals are excellent, they are large and well built with plenty of resistance and accurate performance. Both the wheel and pedals feel sturdy and satisfying to use, I am very happy with this product and the price I paid for it :) Overall a great wheel and quite possibly the best for this price range.

DO NOT BUY FOR PC
I purchased this because I was looking for something to use with f1 2012 on my pc. Not only did the wheel not work, but upon contacting the seller for assistance they did not reply. I tried Xpadder to map the wheel but it was simply not registering when I was turning the wheel, needless to say you pay for what you get. A broken cheap wheel. Had the seller been more useful in helping me I may have given two stars.........

Thrustmaster review
The Thrustmaster is a great, good quality racing wheel that feels like the real thing, so much so i keep taking my hand off the wheel to grab my gear knob as if i was in the car, so i have to use manual setting to counter this, which itself works very well, although the paddles don't feel that strong and i can see myself breaking one when the racing gets more serious! There is no vibrate for the Playstation, only for PC, and sometimes when you turn on your Playstation with the normal controller, you have to wait for it to sleep before the wheel takes over as main control, and other times when it is off, you have to unplug the cable and re-insert it to get it working. Also the foot pedals have to be reset to work (and the gear shifters if your using them and they haven't broke)EVERY time you restart the Playstation, which means going into a race, holding down 2 buttons, pressing the x button, then the accelerator to assign, same with the brake and both up+down shifts, and then turn the steering response to "actually do something" mode, before starting, which is a bit of a headache. All this is soon forgotten when you actually get to start a race as it is really good.

Fantastic Product, But Does Have its Cons
This is the first racing wheel I have purchased since the days of PlayStation 2. I am no expert when it comes to racing games, and I wanted something on a more budgetable scale, for the casual racing gamer. I had originally been looking at cheaper wheels, but after watching some review videos of them, it was apparent that you weren't going to get much quality unless you invested a fair amount of money into it. Anyhow, I finally settled with the Ferrari GT Experience wheel, as I felt that ~£40 was a reasonable price for a budget gamer, and I felt it offered a bit more quality and endurance than other cheaper wheels. The product was delivered within 3 working days and the packaging was very secure and undamaged. Upon opening the box, my first impression was that the wheel was a lot smaller than expected. If you're reading this, don't expect this wheel to be the actual size of a car's steering wheel, because it isn't. However, after using it for a few hours I felt the size was actually very good and is much more suitable for sitting at a desk with in front of a screen. I would say the wheel is about 75% of the size for an actual steering wheel, which isn't too bad in all honesty. Moving on, the quality of the wheel was surprisingly good too. The rubber grip in the right and left hand side of the wheel circumference is very good and will not allow your hands to slip at all. The buttons all function perfectly fine, and the general force needed to turn the wheel is very realistic to a real car. There is also a switch button on the left hand side of the wheel's base which allows you to switch between PC and PS3, and this is not shown in the product pictures. The clamp which comes with the wheel allows for very secure clamping to a desk or surface and prevents the wheel from moving/slipping completely. In addition, the pedals are also pretty good and require a fairly realistic amount of force to maneuver them, and the braking pedal is stiffer than the gas pedal. In terms of flaws to this product, there are a few which I'd like to point out. Firstly, the number icons on the front buttons are very hard to see if you're a PC user like me. In the pictures, it shows the buttons as having white numbers in the corners to represent its PC functionality (e.g. the Triangle button for PS3 is labelled as number 4 for PC). Due to these being black and not white as the picture shows, I can barely see which buttons I am supposed to press unless I really look close, which is kind of annoying when you're in the middle of a fast-paced race and can't find the button. The Ferrari logo also feels pretty cheap and doesn't look overly impressive, as it is just a useless piece of plastic that serves no purpose. The D-pad buttons are a little stiff too, and don't feel very responsive when you push them down. I have also been having trouble with the 'Force Feedback' feature that this wheel supposedly offers. After reading reviews, people say that it works on PC, but not on PS3. Anyhow, being a PC gamer I thought this would be great as I'd have the ability to use it. However, I have yet to feel the feature's effect and despite it being turned on in-game (F1 2012), it hasn't worked at all. I have even downloaded the latest drivers from the Thrustmaster website, but no luck... The wheel also does not support full 360 degree motion. It is obvious for this price that you would not get a feature like that anyway, but the limit of 180 degrees (90 degrees left and right) does have its downsides on sharp bends in-game. Lastly, I am also having trouble with the pedals on my carpet floor. They are constantly sliding forwards and I have to pause the game to pull them back to where they should be. I am considering purchasing some carpet grips to stick on the bottom of the pedals, because it really is bugging me how they keep sliding, even with their rubber grips on the bottom. Overall I'd give this product an 8/10. It is very good for the price and does the job well for a casual gamer. However, there are quite a few annoying flaws which put this product down, and the force feedback issue in particular is the worst, as I have yet to find any solutions or information online regarding it.

Not for proper simulation fans
If you would class yourself as a proper sim fan then read on (if not you might not agree with the review, its not aimed at casual racing gamers). I read alot of reveiws before buying this and didnt do my research properly like i should. It was an impulse buy and i have regretted it. For sims its poor, it has little to no resistance untill you get to almost full lock. Straight line driving into slight corners feels like your moving air between your fingers - not good, very weird and hard to feel in control of the car. This is due to the wheel not having a mechanical gearing system like logitech wheels (and hey im not comparing this to a G27, lets take the older FF EX which retailed for about the same price as this wheel and felt moons ahead of this attempt by Thrustmaster). Instead it has what Thrustmaster call a bungee system and well....yep its just that, the wheel feels like its on elastic, turn to the right or left and it pings back. Ok fine this is an attempt to get feedback / resistance on the cheap but to be honest - no, it just feels wrong. That takes me onto 'force feedback', i realise its never advertised as Force Feedback its advertised as a Vibration Feedback, so unfair of me to slate it for not having proper FF. However, alot of reveiws on here say 'great force feedback' etc.. and so deserve a slap! :) The difference between Force Feedback and Vibration Feedback is chalk and cheese with the later being terrible! honestly ild rather no feedback if it was vibration or nothing. So please do be aware this wheel does NOT have Force Feedback. To those who think it does, please read up on the difference. The quality of the plastic and wheel itself does have an ok feel to it - the grip is nice and its nice to see an attempt at paddle shifters as opposed to little buttons that some wheels use, also the peddles are alright...they do have a fair ammount of resistance and the brake peddle has noticably more than the accelerator which is good. So this is the only reason i was generous with 2 stars - otherwise it would be 1.

Ferrari GT experience
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue PS3 configuration procedure for the Ferrari GT Experience racing wheel By default in this game acceleration and braking are not assigned to the R1/L1 buttons {which is the case for the pedals and Up/Down levers on the Ferrari GT experience wheel Procedure to configure and optimise the wheel {this procedure only needs to be carried out once, as the changes will then be saved in the game. 1. Start up your game. 2. Go to the OPTION menu 3. Go to CONTROLLER SETUP menu [by clicking the symbol represonting the gamepad and the D-pad] 4. Configure your controller as follows; *ACCELERATE on R2 *BRAKE on L2 *SHIFT UP on R1 *SHIFT DOWN on L1 *REAR VIEW on L3 and/or R3 *LEFT AND RIGHT VIEW on D-PAD LEFT AND RIGHT 5. Click OK {in the lower right of your screen} 6. Return to the main menu to access the track of your choice You should also be aware that this wheel comes with software drivers issued in 2006. When you buy the wheel download the software but DO NOT click on the DRIVERs tab. Make sure you have an internet connection and click on the UPDATES tab. The latest 2009 drivers will be installed into the software files. Alternatively if you have no connection at the time of installation then you can google and go to the Thrustmasters or Guilliemot sites and download the drivers from there. The only major problem that this wheel has is that it is not Auto-Detected in the newer PC games. All the older games of the PS2/PC DVD era are and may even bring new life to them if you care to dig them out for a nostalgia blast. To configure the wheel for the newer games you must go to the ingame controller mapping section and follow the above procedure, remembering the opening note above re the first two settings is specifically for GT5. All other games have the standard mapping. That aside this is a brilliant wheel that is defo worth more than the price and I suspect the reason is because people in the past have not updated the drivers and do not know how to work around the PC non-detection default. Bit sad but unfortunately Guilliemot have decided to focus on their more advanced wheels to combat the Logitech G25 and 27 dominance of the high-end US and Korean market for Pro Gamers and suchlike {that's where the money is these days folks}. The consequential damage of the product rep should be enough so I shall be charitable and award five stars since there are workarounds for these problems, albeit very convoluted and time consuming. The wheel itself handles well with a tougher-than-average steering resistance and comes with rubber texture at the hand grip positions. The spring-back and resistance would not make it suitable really for small kids {under 12s} as any prolonged use can be quite fatigueing on the wrists and forearm muscles. Ditto any Octogenarians out there. It is designed for the sole use of table-top clamp, not on-the-lap but takes only a few seconds to set up and dismantle. The wheel size and mounting is between the Trust Compact 3200 and the larger Logic3 Top Units though the wheel angle is more horizontal and cannot be adjusted. The pedals have natural "saturation" which prevents the digital hazard of "all-or-nothing" acceleration and braking, despite having the RJ jack. The gears selector paddles behind the wheel are default A/B but can be disassociated from A/B functions to the gear select when the pedals are mapped for A/B All the buttons are very ergonomically placed and comfortably spaced for large and small hands. They can also be remapped in-game so you can profile on the fly. The pedals operate either in "combined" or "seperate" mode. This particular facility is too complex to go into detail about here,but operates in conjunction with the two sensitivity setting that the steering has. Suffice to say that the former is for SIMULATORS and the demanding performance requirements from the player and the latter is more suited to the casual "arcade" type driving experience. All in all I would recommend that you buy at this price but bear in mind that the manufacturers have stopped making them and the driver support stopped in 2009. But it is future-proof in that regard for at least the next three years. And yes it does work in Win 7 {all versions including the sp1}

Awesome Product !
This is for my pc and it's my first steering wheel. I'm really happy with this product and the price is amazing. The wheel feels very well made and it's very comfortable to hold, all the buttons are easy to get to and the shift panel gears feel really good in game. The wheel fits perfectly on the desk and the clamp makes is secure so it wont move. There is a nice amount of resistance in the wheel so its not slack to move it. The vibration function works really well to ! The pedals are really good as well, they feel nice and solid, not too hard or too soft and just like the real thing the brake pedal is a little harder to push compared to the accelerate pedal. If your looking for a wheel for your ps3 or pc and don't want to spend too much then this is perfect, I can't really see why some of the others are £100+ when this one does the job perfectly ! It plugs in 1 USB port, just remember to use the same USB port as you had it in when you installed the drivers from the CD or you may need to install them again as they can be PORT sensitive.

My first wheel!
The Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience Racing Wheel i chose @ £35 was a bargain entry level wheel i think! (although its my one & only wheel i have used). It clamps well and firmly to the stand, the peddle box can move from the front (the front lifts under heavy braking/acceleration), but isn't a problem, and i will find a solution for this later seats well on the stand base, tho the peddles do feel a bit too close together for prolonged gaming. Quite precise steering on PC games, like Dirt 3, on default steering sensitivity settings. Did feel a bit woolly on the PS3, but haven't tried adjusting any in game steering sensitivity settings yet, But have tried with the wheels own sensitivity settings which has only 2 settings! Overall i am well pleased with this racing wheel, & great value for the prices!
