A little goes a long way
This is good stuff. Works well to coat affected area. My boy has a big cut from a growth that he managed to scratch. I applied a generous amount with a cotton ball. Keeps it from bleeding so that was great.

Really helped my Boston with "crusty" ears and nose...
So my Boston Terrier... a male about 7 years old, developed some "crusty" areas on the top of his nose... on the furry part right before the "nose"... and the edge of his ear. I am not sure what was causing it, but read a few things that sounded like it could be mites. I did not realize that it was bothering him, but did notice that he was rolling in the dirt outside when I would let him out, which he has always done from time to time... but was doing it A LOT more. Part of my research showed this product several different times, so I looked it up on Amazon and saw that it was pretty cheap. I bought it on a whim due to the low price and good reviews. After I applied it the fist day, the "crust" softened up and I was able to wipe most of it away with a warm washcloth. He was a little bothered by the application of it, but not too much. He seemed to forget about it after a little while. I put it on several more times every few days, and the crust on both his nose and the edge of his ear has completely disappeared. His little snout is back to being soft. However, I also realized he is staying MUCH cleaner, as he's not rolling around in the dirt like he was. So, I'm thinking that his nose and ear were itching (maybe mites?), and he was rubbing them on the ground for relief. This ointment solved the problem, and he is much more comfortable now. Definitely a good product for the money! Smells like cloves... not unpleasant at all. The consistency is like bearing grease...

Great product
Had a very strange spot on my rough Collie that she kept biting. When I looked at it, it was about a 2" area somewhat devoid of hair and the skin was a bit red and irritated. So when I came across this product I decided it was a good price for a possible one time application. Applied it one time and she never bothered the spot again! I noticed the ingredient salicylic acid, which Farriers use on injured cows hooves. So salicylic acid must be a pretty good general medication for animals. Glad I made the purchase!

Heals quickly
This product does heal quickly. My dog has hot spots and after the first application, her sores looked much better. After a few days, her coat started to look much better. The scent is medicinal, but it does work.

Worked well for my Frenchie.
I was skeptical after reading some negative reviews however I was desperate to find something to clear up my French Bulldogs very inflamed belly. It was so bad I thought she was going to scratch off a nipple. It looked awful and painful. Her belly was dry and cracked and inflamed. Noting I tried worked. I have used this 3 times a day for 3 days and her belly is just about back to normal. Yes it smells like tea tree oil (Vick’s vapor rub) and yes large doses of tea tree oil can be toxic to dogs (made that mistake once lucky for me she survived) but this product does not contain toxic amounts of tea tree oil. And yes it is thick and oily as it is an ointment. It worked like a charm for my pup who wasn’t bothered by the smell. You would have thought it was a spa treatment she was all relaxed and seemed to enjoy the belly rubbing. It may not work for everyone’s needs but what product does.

Soothing the itch with longevity
This is a heavy salve with light lidocaine for your dogs. I’m not sure about cats. It has a mentholated fragrance. I have a Jack Russell that is severely allergic to many things and gets bitten outdoors a lot. I’ve use this for many years on him. it immediately takes away his suffering from itching or chewing himself. This product line comes in a spray and also a liquid that you can use cotton balls with, but I find this heavy salve Works the best. I rub it in really well because he does lick it and that’s OK, but you want to rub it in as much as you can and you don’t have to use a lot. That will ensure getting it into the itching area, numbing the skin and soothing the irritation for them. Be careful NOT to get it on their genital areas.
