PERFECT FOR PICKY BUNNIES
I used to just get hay at the pet store for my rabbits, but they've always been picky about hay and never liked it when it was hard, green, and stiff. They will throw more than half of it in their litter box and we just throw it away when I have to give them that. I used to get it soft like 2nd-3rd cut half the time, and half the time it was the hard green stuff but recently, they stopped selling anything else aside from first cut it seems. The brand I bought didn't sell other cuts, so I don't know what happened or why the hay just stopped being soft ever, but it became a real problem, because I was spending a lot of money on hay, and my bunnies wouldn't even eat the majority of it. I was a little worried when I read the reviews and saw that a lot of people said the larger sizes weren't any good, because I definitely needed a larger size, but for the price I figured it was still worth it to try. I paid the same amount for 20 lbs of this that I would spend on 5lbs of the hay they don't eat. It was perfect! There were a couple little weeds in it but nothing that effected the overall quality or was bothersome. First cut is always a little dusty, but again, not a problem. They now eat ALL of their hay, and I'm getting way more for way less money! Everyone wins! I wish they would sell it in stores, but I'll definitely continue to buy this from now on. Even if I do get a bad batch here and there it's worth it for the reasonable cost and nice quality of the hay. And another plus, I don't have to wear gloves to feed them anymore either! The other hard green hay used to actually cut my hands up. My hands are sensitive. I always had to wear gloves. This is so soft, it doesn't poke in the slightest. If you have picky hay-eaters, I would highly recommend this, and I know my rabbits would too!

My Sulcata Tortoise loves this stuff
My Sulcata Tortoise is quite picky. There's a feed store nearby where I've purchased hay in the past, but he doesn't really like it. There is natural grass outside that he eats, but it dries up by summer. Grass/hay should be 90% of their diet so I am glad he relishes this stuff. He goes through a big pile of it every day. This hay is a little more expensive, obviously, but it's worth it. I will continue to buy it as long as it's available.

Fantastic Senior Bunny Hay!
My elderly Holland Lop, Chumley, recently lost his bond mate this year. As he is getting older and was never one to eat hay except socially I was worried about his health. Only pellets was not going to be a lasting solution, and he was chewing on fine straw particles to get his roughage. When I offered him this, even with his occasionally sore mouth (yes he gets regular vet care) he will happily sit in the sunshine and munch again. Anything that makes his golden years pleasant for him is fantastic in my book. The quality is always there, the hay is soft, green, and easy for him to eat. It's not for healthy young rabbits - 3rd cutting is a treat or best for older or in some way impaired bunnies and I am endlessly grateful I can get it for my old man.

Pigs will not eat - dusty too.
Our guinea pigs used to love this hay, but recently they will not eat it. We’ve tried multiple times to get them to eat it, but they refuse. In addition, the is so much dust it makes our rooms dusty and we need to vacuum more frequently. Not sure what happened to this hay as it used to be amazing. Please consider changing back so our pigs will eat again. Thank you.

Third cutting is the right stuff for your pet
I had purchased Small Pet Select timothy hay twice before. The first time I was very pleased with it so did not hesitate to order again. I was very unhappy with the product that I received the second time - it was hard and with lots of stuff that was more like straw than hay. I saw comments that lead me to believe others had the same experience upon their second order and had decided to stay clear of this company in the future. Then I received a notice about the hay on Amazon and noticed something I had missed before. The notice was for "third cutting" which costs slightly more than first or second cutting, but according to reviews, was a much softer, greener product. I decided to give it a try and ordered a box of third cutting hay. It is wonderful stuff. I apparently just ordered a lesser grade the time I had a bad experience, and I suspect the same may be true of others who were unhappy with second orders. There is no wasted stuff with this third cutting order, and I will order this whenever I need more hay. Just be attentive to what cutting you are ordering - third is great.

Bunny's favorite hay
My rabbit loves this hay. He gets a handful topper on the rest of his hay, and he always eats it.

Quality soft hay
Finally, some Timothy hay that is actually soft and leafy. I have had a hard time finding soft hay, and my Chinchilla really enjoys this stuff so far. Some of the other brands advertise as soft but are not.

Great hay but quality is not consistent
My baby bunny will eat whatever hay I give her but my older bunny will not and is very picky. I was recommended small pet select 3rd cutting so I placed an order for 2lbs. I was blown away by how fresh, soft, and green it was. My bunny loved it! But I ordered a second box this time 10lb and the quality was awful. The hay was brown and dry and dusty. Not even the same realm as the first 2lb box and no returns. I HIGHLY recommend getting the smaller box if you can. Giving four stars because the 2lb box was so great

Best product for old/sick/picky animals Meilleur foin pour les animaux malades/vieux/exigeants
Ma guinea pig was sick and wouldn't eat. We gave her Critical Care but were fearing that she would have a tooth problem from not eating hay. This hay is a miracle. Very soft, it was easy to eat despite the pain she was in. The best quality out there, everything will be eaten, no waste.

Freshness
This hay is so green! I wanted to put some on a salad to eat myself! Smells lovely. My Guinea Pigs are loving it. No dust and there's so much in the box, it will last a while as they have it in racks. I use meadow hay for bedding as they love to "rummage". They can also nibble on that too. Very Pleased, will definitely buy again and highly recommend to keep Guinea Pigs happy and healthy

Great quality product and a great seller!
I buy a LOT of hay for our herd of house rabbits (5 in total) each week and to make sure that they don't get bored (which sometimes easy for them to do when 85% of what they eat *is* hay!) I always give them different options rotating mainly between 1st/2nd cut from different shops and sellers, sometime meadow, sometimes timothy etc. So far it has kept them all super-healthy and our bunnies love to eat it. However, by far their favourite is 3rd cut and I have always struggled to get decent 3rd cut timothy hay until now. We have had three orders through Small Pet Select for 3rd cut and its really great quality, lovely and green with broad leaves of grass in it (which they love as it helps to wear their teeth down). It also comes in a nice cardboard box which the buns love to jump into and play in and no plastic bags used. If you want to get some really tasty hay for your pets to add into the mix along with 1st/2nd cut then I would highly recommend this one!

Soft, green hay, loved by my rabbit.
Very soft hay. Rabbit loves it. Now prefers this to first cut which is more ‘spikey’ although he still likes the seed heads. Although he doesn’t have teeth problems, he is getting older.
