Can this be hung on a wall?

Yes you can. I have 1 on my living room wall and the other on my bedroom dresser so it can be used either way

Can I use this dispenser with my Lysol freshmatic refills?

This thing fit my cans, it even says in the description fits both lysol air sanitizing freshmatci spray and airwick freshmatic spray. In fact, I have a couple units spraying lysol air sanitizing spray right now.

Do it really have to be 6 feet off the floor?

It kinda does. I have mine about 7 feet up on a wall in the bathroom, and on the higher spray settings you'll sometimes find a glossy sheen on the bathroom tiles because it hasn't dispersed in the air before it hit the floor.
