This is an excellent product, worth paying a little extra for. I have a very elderly cat who can no longer manage his own claws and, if I don't get them trimmed regularly, he gets them caught up in soft furnishings. As he is very vet phobic, I decided to invest in some clippers. I picked these because they are well made and specifically designed for smaller pets. I knew I would struggle to hold him still so thought these would be an easier design to use than the guillotine type ones and more precise than a larger pair (they are about the same size as human nail scissors), which has turned out to be true. My cat did struggle a lot initially, he is the type who only likes being handled on his own terms, but I found that if I only cut a few claws a day until they are all done, it gets a little easier each time which I take to mean he has realised they don't actually hurt! As these have good cutting blades, once you have them in the right place, they cut the claw quickly and cleanly. They arrived within a couple of days and the sellers send a follow up email to ensure you are happy with the product. I highly recommend them.

I’m a dog groomer and find these nail clippers to be excellent for cutting small dogs nails. Fantastic quality, love the small cutting edge, it’s smaller than on some other brands which I find a great help when cutting back dew claws that have curled around. Bought a second pair to give to my colleague who was always borrowing mine.

The main reason I really like these is that they’re small, like regular human (or baby) nail scissors. This is perfect for me, as I am fairly small, and perfect for my cats, as they are tiny. We’ve had some ‘multi animal’ nail clippers before which were really really big tools, and they were simply too large for using on my cats. These ones are able to be so much smaller because they’re specifically for cats; they wouldn’t be any good for something like a dog, which have very large, thick nails. Their compact size also helps to gives you great control and makes them less frightening to use for both human and cat. It’s also definitely a mark in their favour that they have a kind of rubbery covering on the handles, which gives them excellent grip. The reason I’ve knocked off a point is because the blades themselves are quite thick. This is probably by design, as the product seems to be carefully thought out, but I don’t know the actual purpose, and I’ve found it makes it a little difficult to judge where on the nail to cut, as you need to tread a careful path between cutting the nail far enough down to both be useful and to minimise how often you have to do the job - cats don’t tend to enjoy it - and not hitting the quick (cats have a ‘quick’ running up through their nails and you must never cut that far down as it causes pain and bleeding). I’ve also found that these clippers do sometimes split the nail, and again that seems to be to do with how thick the blades are. These are still the best option for cats that I’m aware of, but if they made a version with slimmer blades, I would definitely upgrade to that.

I have waited a couple of months before leaving a review as I wanted to try the KittyNails out on both my cats properly before giving feedback. One is very ill and no longer going outside so his claws were getting a little too long. That said, he just lays down on his climbing frame and happily lets me clip away. Brilliant! The other is an extremely loving indoor cat who can be quite feisty at times, to put it mildly, so when I try to do something out of the norm she can be a bit of a nightmare! Clipping claws is a necessity and no matter what I try to do she will always try and scratch, hiss, whatever. As you can imagine I have tried a number of products to sort her claws out, all to no avail ... until I bought KittyNails. I won't say it is a breeze but they are definitely a lot easier to use than anything else I have tried on her! The design of the handles make them very easy to hold naturally and give good grip. The overall length of the stainless steel is 4cm, with the actual blade being approx. 1cm, opening up from the point of the screw to almost 180 degrees ... so none of this trying to get a claw in a hole before being able to think about clipping! Paul and Sarah have sent me an email saying they would also work very well on bird claws and other small pets like guinea pigs and rabbits. Also good for puppies and small breed dogs too. Having used typical non-scissor type clippers since I had my kittens at 8 weeks old, and getting increasingly naffed off with them I finally settled on these as a replacement. So, so glad I did! They are brilliant! Although my puddies were fairly used to getting their claws clipped, I could see that continued use of my inferior clippers was heading towards more stress, more discomfort for my babies! These are so easy to use, easy to hold, they cut cleanly, don't leave the claw ragged like my other ones, and best part don't have a super annoying "safety latch" effort that swung over and locked the blades in place which just added to the difficult task. I've never been afraid of clipping their claws, using high quality, excellent value for money clippers like these make it a job I now won't dread at all!

Ich bin positiv überrascht ! Musste meiner Katze die Krallen kürzen und bin Anfänger darin, deshalb wollte ich nicht an der falschen Stelle sparen und habe mich für diese Modell entschieden. Diese Schere liegt super in der Hand und fühlt sich sehr wertig an. Nach meinen anfänglichen Befürchtungen zuviel der Kralle wegzuschneiden, merkte ich, daß man hier ganz intuitiv und sehr genau schneiden kann. Die Klinge ist super scharf, so dass man nichts quetscht und auch nicht viel Kraft aufwenden muss. Ich habe damit auch mehr Gefühl als mit einem Nagelknipser. Ich bin sehr zufrieden.

Ma maman aime me couper un peu mes griffes surtout en hiver car l'été je les use dehors en tirant mon "boulet" qui est une pierre percée avec une jolie chaîne de 4 m car la route devant ma maison ne pardonne pas, beaucoup de mes congénères se font tuer par les chauffards qui roulent trop vite malgré la régulation de la vitesse à 50km/ heure et ces petits ciseaux sont super , j'ai même pas mal !

Both of my cats needed help with their nails, and these clippers work great. . My 14-year-old guy does a good job keeping his front claws in order by using the various scratching posts around the house and the tree trunks outside. But his hind claws were getting pretty long and starting to interfere with his walking. I let him get nice and relaxed (but not asleep) and he let me clip those long nails. The clippers were easy to use and caused him NO distress. I also have a 4-month-old kitten whose sharp little claws were leaving holes everywhere--the furniture, my clothing, my arms! I also waited for him to get into a relaxed pre-sleep state and he let me do his front claws quite easily. The scissor-like design is easy to understand. They are a good size, work great, and at a wonderful price. I highly recommend them to anyone. If you are unsure how to clip your cat's nails, you can find lots of instructional videos on the internet that should help boost your confidence. These are the clippers I would recommend.

Wow! I am so excited! For the first time ever I cut my cat's claws using these clippers. I researched online for several days before I decided on this pair. The clippers are small which is great so kitty (Oscar) doesn't freak out when he sees me coming. They also are sharp and so easy to use. Simple is better because it doesn't take a lot of time to get the claw in position to cut. Since I'm new at this, I only took off the very sharp tips but they are blunt enough now not to inflict damage. Oscar was just waking from his nap on the bed with his legs to the side of him when I grabbed the clippers and while hubby held Oscar's paws for me, I clipped each nail. The guillotine clippers which I had before never worked for me because it took so long to get the nail positioned in the clipper, that by the time I was ready to squeeze the handle to cut, the opportunity was gone. It just was too cumbersome a process. These are perfect. I'm so glad I chose them out of all the styles and brands out there. :)
