Foppapedretti Assai Folding Ironing Board, Natural

I was after a replacement ironing board that wasn't made of crappy materials. These days I'm desperately trying to go plastic free as much as possible and am determind that when I buy something; that it will last. I'm in my 50s now and basically never want to have to replace these things again. Quality is usually the way to ensure that.. and quality comes at a premium. (even at sale price) I am happy to report that this ironing board is a delight! It has a good weight to it.. sturdy and reassuring. Minor Con's: You will have to assemble the wheels (peice of cake to do) and the wheels don't roll too well over a rug (so you might want to consider that if you have carpet only) It does roll beautifully over a hard floor. It also stands up on its wheels, great for tidy storage. It's lovely to iron on, again nice and stable. It's an ironing board, so how pretty can it be? Actually, surprisingly beautiful! (I love wood though) I'm confident that it's going to last a lifetime and even more confident that I can purchase replacement parts for it from the manufacturer. If you can stretch to it financially, you won't regret it in the long run. I've paid out at least £300 throughout my lifetime on horrible iroining boards and each of them have gone the same way. (rusted through the middle) and ended up in the tip. If I'd known what I know now in terms of value for money, I'd have bought one of these first! Update: (Dec 2022) Four+ years later.. I’m still waxing lyrical about this board. I’d have worn through a metal one by now or at least buckled or warped it. Still in perfect shape, I now use a steam generator iron (for the last three years) & it’s hasn’t had any negative effect on the board. I do place the irons base/tank on the shelf below the board as the pull out iron rest clearly isn’t designed to take such weight. The shelf below has no such issue holding the extra weight. The only evident wear & tear (light wear on the corners and edges ) is on the cover which I’m replacing today so I can keep the old cover for waxing garments. Otherwise I suspect I’d not be replacing that for another couple of years. I still maintain it was a fine purchase & if someone set fire to or pilfered mine I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. Outstanding value in the long term. Still highly recommended and no, I don’t have shares in the company and I wasn’t given any incentive. :)

This is a great ironing board! I abhor ironing & loath flimsy, annoying metal ironing boards - this one is wooden, easy to open and close, has a larger ironing surface and is a joy, yes, a joy to use! Can't rate it enough. I rarely leave reviews but had to for this product, expensive but worth it. It's not light to carry around, I'm guessing the wheels provided if I needed to use them would make up for this. Thoughtfully designed, elegant and seems to iron better, maybe the surface fabric is helping, even that is a nice cover. Finally I will get through my mountain of ironing.

Not cheap but well worth the investment. Easy to assemble, sturdy and with a massive surface area making short work of all the ironing, particularly bedding. The retractable metal shelf holds my steam generator easily and the lower shelf is great for stacking finished items. It folds quickly and easily and the wheels make it a doddle to move around. Stands neatly behind the door when not in use. I fully expect to be passing this on to the next generation, it’s so solid. Any reservations I had about spending that amount on an ironing board evaporated the moment it arrived.

This product is expensive, but it is built to last and from high quality materials. It's easy to fold out and has a wide surface which is perfect for most items. It also has a handy shelf under the ironing surface, and a sturdy support for your iron. It even has wheels so even though it's heavy, it's super easy to move around. Definitely recommended for making ironing at least a little less taxing!

This is lovely but .... nowhere near the size claimed in the product information or in answer to my questions through Amazon. It is 50cm wide at the widest point, and the ironing surface is about 103 cm long -- that's shorter than most standard boards on sale. The pull-out iron rest is about 20cm in length, so it just fits the smaller of my steam generator irons -- it will be big enough for a normal steam iron. The wheels are good but don't really work well on carpet so it is necessary to lift the board to move it on a carpeted floor. On the plus side, the action to open and close the board is smooth and it is relatively easy to adjust the height.

I absolutely love my new ironing board. It's pleasant to put up out of the cupboard, no longer any creaking and clanking metal, and works so brilliantly as the board is much wider and shorter than cheap metal versions; much more fit for purpose. The iron rest is solid, shelf underneath large enough to fit a pile of ironed t shirts. The ironing surface is very good, with thick padding too. I was worried about assembly but adding the wheels is no harder than buttering a slie of toast. This will make ironing a pleasure rather than a chore, I guarantee. Wish I had bought one years ago.

My husband inherited a wooden ironing board many years ago and it finally gave up the ghost! I already have one of those larger ironing boards with the criss-cross ironing surface, but found it left imprints of the mesh on clothing, so decided to replace the existing one with another wooden one. I absolutely LOVE this ironing station! It's not your typical ironing board shape - much wider and quite a bit shorter, but along with the reflective cover, it halves my ironing time as the steam penetrates the clothes and is reflected back to the underside of anything I iron. It may appear expensive, but it's a beautifully constructed board and so easy to put up and put down. The iron plate retracts into the board for storage and is very sturdy. Worth every single penny!

This is very well built, sturdy and folds and unfolds easily. The wheels enable you to push it around when folded, but it is easy to carry. It fits into a smaller space than the usual metal boards. Nice, wide ironing area. Pull out metal frame to store iron when ironing. So glad I bought this.

Das Bügelbrett ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Es steht stabil. Die kleinen Rädchen erleichtern den Transport. Absolute Empfehlung.

少し高目の値段だったけど、買って使ってみて、大きいならではの安定感。アイロンをするのも楽しくなります。

There are some plastic details and that is a little disappointing on such a high quality product, but otherwise very nice and classic design.

Es la mejora tabla para planchar que puedas tener. La compré porque la vi en el Corte I n g l e s, y al verla en Amazon de la misma marca y mejor precio lo tuve claro. La tabla es de un material conglomerado muy firme, no se deshace en virutas. El resto es todo madera y metal. Es ultra ancha y larga, cabe todo el lado de una camiseta ancha sin tener que irla girando, o sea que planchar cualquier prenda lleva menos de un minuto. Los pantalones de la foto son super anchos, no caben en una tabla normal. La dejas plegada y se aguanta sola, la desplazas con ruedas y para abrirla solamente subes la parte de tabla y las patas se abren solas con las ruedas. El metal donde dejas la plancha se desliza y listo. Y para cerrala solamente levantas un poco la estantería de abajo y se pliega sola. Siempre había odiado planchar, hasta que compré el centro de planchado P h i l i p s, y esta tabla de planchar. Ahora me encanta hacerlo, es una inversión enorme pero lo amortizas en tiempo, comodidad y acabados. Y sinceramente, ahora ya no podría volver a las tablas normales.
