Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson give the flat-share sitcom a much needed kick up the Bottom in the show which, alongside Men Behaving Badly (1992-8) injected new life into a legendarily dire genre. With glorious comic gusto they play Richie Rich and Eddie Hitler, a pair of misfits barely surviving unemployment in a Hammersmith hovel. They spend their life in frustration, minus female company or money, in facile schemes to entertain or better themselves, their best intentions always proving the catalyst for hilariously OTT cartoon-style violence. The humour benefits from being rude, crude and surreal, and though happily bereft of subtlety or sense the situations and set-pieces are always superbly constructed, delivered and directed. But that's only to be expected from a show that essentially presents two of The Young Ones a decade down the line. Mayall and Edmondson had earlier perfected their surreal double act as The Dangerous Brothers and these first episodes of Bottom find them in side-splitting form. From a misadventure with pheromone spray and the wrong sort of dogs down the pub in "Smells" to a birthday "Accident", which introduces The Young Ones' Christopher Ryan as a regular guest character, this is BBC comedy at its best. Brace yourself, 'cos this is going to hurt. --Gary S Dalkin Every episode of the BBC comedy from all three series of the anarchic, violent sitcom, following the fortunes of Richie Richard (Rik Mayall) and Eddie Hitler (Adrian Edmondson), two grotesque losers living in a squalid flat in London and trying to make sense of their pointless existence. โ Series 1 episodes are: 'Smells', 'Gas', 'Contest', 'Apocalypse', ''S Up' and 'Accident' . โ Series 2 episodes are: 'Digger', 'Culture', 'Burglary', 'Parade', 'Holy' and ' 'S Out' . โ Series 3 episodes are: 'Hole', 'Terror', 'Break', 'Dough', 'Finger' and 'Carnival'. Review: Very very funny - Amazing! still as funny now as it was in the 90โs Review: Crazy!! - Of its time. Hilarious and anarchic. We'll never see this kind of comedy again. More's the pity. Can't recommend highly enough. Enjoy on a Friday evening with a few beers and the feet up and you'll forget about your troubles !

Not your gentle sitcom
Great anarchic comedy from the genius minds of Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson who are back from starring in the Young Ones team up to create a show that is not PC and would never get made today. The flat the two characters share is filthy but has a certain charm when Rik and Ade start cartoon slapstick style aka Tom trying to get Jerry the mouse cartoon hi jinks style at each other. This only appeals to a certain generation who grew up with freedom to choose a show able to express feelings without getting cancelled because todays generation are too soft! Loved the Young Ones you'll love this.

The Dysfunctional Duo
Yes, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson have done it again to humour us. Series 1:- 1: Smells - Richie and Eddie have no luck of getting dates, their answer is found in their local paper. 2: Gas - Richie and Eddie have to get rid of an illegal gas pipe, without disturbing their violent neighbour. 3: Contest - Eddie has put a bet on Miss World, as Richie reduce his boredom. 4: Apocalypse - Richie has inherited ยฃ600 of his aunt's will and gets a gypsy curse, Eddie has something planned. 5: 'S Up - Richie and Eddie are in charge of their landlord's shop, they plan something else to spend their Sunday. 6: Accident - It's Richies birthday and things turn nasty for him as Eddie brings his friends over. Series 2:- 1: Digger - Richie and Eddie go to a dating agency, Richie has to be confident to please his date. 2: Parade - Richie and Eddie have a lucky day... That goes horribly wrong. 3: Burgalary - Richie and Eddie have a burgalar in the flat and they have to plan how to get rid of him. 4: Culture - Richie and Eddie have to find what's worth doing without the TV. 5: Holy - It's Christmas Day and things go bad, a miracle is about to happen. (FULL VERSION) 6: 'S Out - Richie and Eddie go camping, which also goes bad. Series 3:- 1: Hole - Richie and Eddie are trapped on top of the ferris wheel, which gets blown up the next day. 2: Terror - The pair trick or treating... With a cattle prod! 3: Break - Richie and Eddie plan a holiday to Doncaster. 4: Dough - Eddie forges money for his friends and Richie to get free drinks at the local pub. 5: Finger - Richie and Eddie steal a honeymoon holiday to Wolverhampton. 6: Carnival - Richie and Eddie watch their annual riots of Hammersmith and make films for the BBC. A sitcom for someone who likes, The Young Ones and Mrs. Brown's Boys
