I've used this Gorilla Mounting Tape for several jobs around the house and have been impressed by how strong the adhesive is once it's fully bonded. It's a useful alternative to drilling holes when mounting lightweight items or organising cables and accessories.Application is straightforward. I cleaned and dried the surface first, cut the tape to the required length and applied firm pressure after positioning the item. The tape cuts cleanly with scissors and the black colour helps it remain discreet once installed. The tape itself feels thick and substantial rather than flimsy, and it provides a much stronger hold than standard double-sided tape. Once properly applied, items stay firmly in place and there is very little movement or flex. One thing worth noting is that positioning needs to be accurate from the start. After the adhesive has bonded, it can be difficult to remove or reposition without damaging the tape, so it's worth taking a little extra time to get everything aligned correctly. The 1.5-metre roll goes further than you'd expect because only short pieces are often needed for smaller mounting jobs. As with any adhesive mounting product, the best results come from using it on clean, dry, suitable surfaces and staying within the recommended weight limits.Overall, this is a handy product to keep in the DIY cupboard. It's easy to use, provides a strong hold and can save the hassle of drilling holes for many everyday household mounting tasks.

The only thing that's been able to stick the back door fly screen permanently, thank goodness. Everything else failed! Just a bit difficult to get the backing tape off to begin with.

Very good tape just a bit expensive for the amount you get

Amazing Strength!!! stuck some lightweight wooden kitchen racks onto my tiled wall after me using the LLPT brand and that brand was terrible but GORILLA hands down just blew the competition away as they never fail to disappoint. I'm just sticking with Gorrilla products from now on when it's to do with glues and tapes as they seems to offer the best quality products that do actually work. this nano tape is crystal clear not sure about its waterproof qualities as I'm not putting it in water but it's thick and very functional and perfect for sticking things to tiled walls. not sure about painted walls but I'm sure it would stick perfectly fine but might pull your paint of the wall as this stuff sticks like stink lol UPDATE 2 weeks in and 1 spice rack has come off the tiles, I just don't get it, I cleaned the tiled wall with a hot wet cloth to remove any grease which there isn't any as my tiles are spotless and I then clean the tiles with isopropyl alcohol so I know the tiled surface is spotlessly clean and I even warmed up the wall as the nano tape will stick better to a slightly warm wall rather than a cold surface and I've stuck it yet again another light weight spice wooden rack onto my wall for the 3rd time now as it came off the wall using the LLPT product so I used this gorilla nano tape and I thought it was doing great but it came off my tiled wall a 2nd time so I've now stuck the rack up on a different place in my kitchen as another rack is still stuck on the tiles using gorilla nano tape so I'm just thinking maybe the first place I stuck it must be a moisture problem or something im not even sure but im not going to give up on gorilla products as i know there good quality.

First roll i ordered was amazing. Super strong, sticky and everything I used it for is still stuck to the wall really well after 3 months. Sadly the second roll i received is awful, hardly sticky at all on both sides and will almost certainly end up in the bin. If you get a good roll its well worth it but be careful and double check the roll when you receive it.

It works very well, but it is difficult to peel off the transparent peel. You have to pull a corner but then it means you slightly deform the piece of tape.

Gorilla Double Sided Mounting Tape Clear (1.5 m, Pack of 1) delivers very strong, permanent-style adhesion in a compact roll that works well for a wide range of indoor uses and some lighter outdoor applications. The clear finish helps the tape disappear visually on glass, acrylic, and smooth painted walls, which makes it especially useful for mounting decor, small fixtures, and organisers without visible hardware. The strength is impressive for such a small roll, and the tape feels reassuringly thick and gel-like rather than flimsy. However, the same strength and thickness bring trade-offs: it is not very forgiving on delicate paint, can be difficult to remove cleanly, and once fully pressed into place it is not really repositionable. At 1.5 m, the length can also feel limiting for larger projects, making this product best suited for targeted jobs rather than whole-room transformations.Overall, this is a very capable mounting solution that earns its 4-star rating, especially for users who value a clean, hardware-free look and do not mind that “mounted” effectively means “semi-permanent”.First impressions and packagingThe tape arrives in typical Gorilla branding: bold, sturdy packaging that clearly communicates the “tough” positioning and intended use.The clear tape is visible through the packaging, so users can see the thickness and transparency before opening. The roll itself feels compact but dense, with a reassuring weight that signals a substantial adhesive layer rather than a thin film.Instructions on the packaging are concise: clean surfaces, apply tape, press firmly, allow good contact. There is a clear emphasis on permanent bonding and high weight capacity when used as directed. The initial impression is of a premium, heavy-duty mounting tape that aims to replace small nails or screws for light-to-medium loads, not a cheap craft or gift-wrap tape.Tape appearance and feelThe tape is fully clear rather than milky or frosted, which helps it visually blend into glass and smooth surfaces. It has a slightly gel-like, rubbery feel and a noticeable thickness compared with standard double-sided tapes. The backing peels away with a bit of effort but does not feel flimsy or prone to tearing during handling. When stretched slightly, the tape has a bit of give but does not deform or shred easily, which helps when working in awkward spots. This overall feel supports the expectation that the tape is meant for mounting, not temporary sticking. It feels closer to a reusable gel pad in thickness but with stronger, more permanent bonding.Ease of use and applicationFor best results, Gorilla specifies applying the tape to clean, dry, smooth surfaces. In practice, the process looks like this:Surface preparationDust, loose debris, and grease significantly reduce performance. A quick wipe with a mild cleaner or isopropyl alcohol can make a noticeable difference. On painted walls, gentle cleaning helps adhesion but also highlights the risk of paint damage if removal is attempted later.Cutting and handlingThe tape is thick but cuts cleanly with standard scissors or a sharp utility knife.Because the adhesive is strong, cutting strips to size before peeling the backing tends to be easier and neater.Pieces can be cut into small squares for picture frames or longer strips for hooks, cable organisers, or small shelves.PositioningOnce a piece is placed and pressed firmly, repositioning is difficult without stretching or damaging the tape and, in some cases, the surface. For items that need to be very level (e.g., frames, small shelves), it is worth pre-marking the wall with a faint pencil line or using a small spirit level.Bonding and pressureFirm, even pressure over the full area of the tape makes a noticeable difference to holding power. On smooth, non-porous surfaces such as metal, glass, or glossy tiles, pressing for several seconds improves the strength of the bond.Allowing a short “settling” time before placing weight on the mount can further enhance performance. In day-to-day use, the tape is easy to cut and apply once the simple process is understood. The main point of care is planning placement in advance, since the product is not designed for trial-and-error repositioning.Performance on different surfacesPainted walls (smooth, interior)On clean, smooth painted walls, grip is excellent. Small to medium wall decor, notice boards, cable clips, and lightweight hooks sit very securely once pressed into place. The main trade-off is removal. When an item is pulled off, there is a real risk of lifting paint, especially if the paint is older, poorly bonded, or applied over dusty plaster. For rented properties or freshly painted walls, this makes the tape a “think twice” choice: fantastic for a clean look, but potentially costly during removal.Glass and mirrorsThis is where the clear tape shines. On glass, the tape is practically invisible from most angles and creates a neat, minimal look.Mounting small decorations, lightweight bathroom accessories, or LED light strips on glass panels works very well.Removal from glass is usually straightforward: a slow, steady peeling motion combined with a bit of heat (e.g., from a hairdryer) can help reduce residue. Any remaining adhesive can usually be rubbed off or removed with a glass-friendly cleaner.Tiles and smooth ceramicsOn glossy bathroom or kitchen tiles, adhesion is strong and consistent. The tape works well for small hooks, toothbrush holders with a flat back, soap dishes, and similar accessories.Grout lines and textured tiles are more challenging; the tape adheres best when the entire strip contacts a flat tile surface.Moisture exposure is something to consider: occasional splashes and steam are usually fine, but constant water flow or outdoor-style soaking is not the intended use.Metal and plasticsOn clean metal surfaces (e.g., appliances, metal shelves, filing cabinets), the tape grips firmly and cleanly, providing an easy way to mount small organisers, hooks, or labels. On smooth plastics (e.g., hard plastic organisers, certain furniture pieces), performance is generally strong, but low-energy plastics like some polypropylene blends can be more difficult; degreasing helps.Textured or porous surfacesRough, heavily textured walls, bare brick, raw concrete, or heavily textured plaster present more of a challenge. The tape can still hold on shallow textures, but overall weight capacity and longevity drop because there is less contact area. For highly porous or crumbly surfaces, this product is not an ideal solution; mechanical fixings or dedicated masonry solutions may be safer.Weight capacity and reliabilityThe manufacturer provides guidelines on weight per length of tape, with the clear expectation that the bond is strongest where there is:Maximum surface contactClean, dry surfacesProper application pressureIn realistic home and office scenarios:Small frames, laminated signs, and lightweight decor items stay in place reliably on smooth walls and doors. On glass and tiles, the bond feels particularly robust, to the point where removing the item can require deliberate effort.Over time, the bond remains stable, with no obvious sagging under moderate loads when the surface is appropriate. For heavier objects, it is important to use adequate tape coverage. Relying on a single tiny strip for a relatively heavy frame is asking too much, even from a strong tape. Spreading several strips over the mounting area distributes load and provides redundancy.Removal and residueThis is where the 4-star rating rather than 5-stars comes in.On hard, non-porous surfaces such as glass, metal, and some plastics, removal is usually manageable with patience.A slow, careful peeling motion and the use of gentle heat minimise residue. Any leftover adhesive can often be rolled off with a thumb or removed with a suitable cleaner. On painted walls, especially older paint, removal is more unpredictable. Sometimes the tape comes away with minimal trouble; other times, it pulls off a layer of paint or even a small patch of plaster. This behaviour is not unique to this product; most genuinely strong, permanent-style mounting tapes share similar risks. However, it does mean this product is best treated as a semi-permanent solution rather than a temporary fix. Users who want completely damage-free removal in all cases may be better served by removable-style strips instead of heavy-duty tape.Longevity and durabilityOver extended use:The adhesive continues to perform well in normal indoor conditions.Temperature changes within typical home ranges do not significantly impact performance. In bathrooms or kitchens with normal humidity and occasional splashes, the bond remains strong when the tape is not directly soaked for extended periods.Direct exposure to UV light through windows and prolonged heat over years may eventually impact transparency or adhesion, but for typical indoor applications, Gorilla’s tape appears built for long-term service rather than short-term holding.ProsVery strong adhesion on suitable surfaces. Once properly applied, mounted items feel secure and confident.Clear and discreet. The transparency helps the tape “disappear” on glass, acrylic, and many smooth surfaces.Thick, gel-like construction. Feels robust and substantial, not flimsy, and provides good contact on very slightly uneven surfaces.Compact but versatile. A 1.5 m roll is enough for multiple small projects: decorating, fixing cable clips, attaching small organisers, and more.Hardware-free mounting. Ideal when drilling, hammering, or using screws is impractical or undesirable.Good performance across many materials. Works especially well on glass, tiles, metals, smooth plastics, and smooth painted walls.ConsRisk of paint damage on removal. On painted walls or delicate surfaces, removal can strip paint or leave marks. Not easily repositionable. Once fully pressed and bonded, adjusting placement is difficult and risks stretching or wasting tape.Limited roll length. At 1.5 m, heavy users or larger projects may need multiple rolls, which adds to cost.Less ideal for rough or porous surfaces. Performance drops notably on brick, rough plaster, or heavy texture.Residue possible. On some surfaces, adhesive remnants may require effort and cleaner to remove.Best uses and scenariosThis product suits users who:Want a clean, minimal look without visible nails, screws, or bulky brackets.Plan semi-permanent installations such as small decor, fixed hooks, bathroom accessories, or organisers.Mount items to smooth, hard surfaces like glass, metal, tiles, or smooth painted walls.Need a strong bond for light-to-medium loads, rather than everyday temporary attachments.Example use cases include:Mounting small photo frames, prints, or signs on walls or doors.Attaching cable clips, power strip brackets, or small cable raceways along skirting boards, desks, or furniture.Fixing small bathroom accessories (within reason) to tiles or mirrors.Securing small plastic or metal organisers to the sides of desks, cabinets, or fridges.Holding LED strip controllers, Wi-Fi extenders, or lightweight smart-home hubs in tidy, discreet positions.Who should think twiceThe tape may not be ideal for:Users in rental properties who cannot risk paint damage upon removal.Situations requiring frequent repositioning or temporary mounting (e.g., frequently changing posters or seasonal decorations).Very rough surfaces like bare brick, rough concrete, or heavy textured plaster.Large, heavy items where dedicated mechanical fixings (screws, plugs, brackets) provide a safer, more predictable solution. For those cases, a removable strip system or conventional hardware may be a better choice.Value for moneyConsidering the strength, clarity, and brand reliability, Gorilla Double Sided Mounting Tape Clear offers good value for targeted projects. However:The 1.5 m length can feel modest when used for several medium-sized mounts. For very large jobs (e.g., an entire gallery wall with numerous large frames), buying multiple rolls can become relatively expensive compared to mixed approaches (some frames on nails, some on tape). For most typical household and office projects, the balance of cost, performance, and convenience is favourable.Tips for best resultsTest on a small area first. Especially on painted walls or delicate surfaces, test a small, hidden patch to understand adhesion and removal behaviour.Clean thoroughly. Use a lint-free cloth and an appropriate cleaner to remove dust, oils, and residue before applying.Plan the layout. Lightly mark positions with pencil or painter’s tape to avoid misalignment.Use enough tape. Distribute strips or patches across the mounting surface rather than relying on a single small piece.Press firmly. Apply consistent pressure along the full tape length or patch to maximise contact.Take it slow when removing. Use slow peeling, gentle heat, and patience to reduce the risk of surface damage.Final verdictGorilla Double Sided Mounting Tape Clear (1.5 m, Pack of 1) delivers on its promise of strong, clear, and reliable mounting for a wide variety of household and office applications. It excels on smooth surfaces and provides a sleek, hardware-free finish that many users will appreciate, especially for decor and light fixtures where visible fixings would spoil the look. The main reasons for a 4-star rather than 5-star rating are the risk of paint damage during removal, the limited capacity for repositioning, and the fact that a single 1.5 m roll can be consumed quite quickly in larger projects. These trade-offs are the natural flipside of its strong, permanent-style bond. For users who understand those limitations and intend to mount items with a longer-term mindset, this is a very capable, trustworthy mounting tape that deserves a strong recommendation and a solid 4-star rating.

I used it to mount my extension bar on the side of the table and its still going strong despite the weight.100% recommended

This tape is a total letdown. Seriously, it can't even hold up something as light as a Christmas decoration. At first, it seems okay, but then, boom – everything comes crashing down. Talk about a flop! I tried sticking it on different things, like an outdoor sensor light – bad idea. The light sensor fell right off and broke. Also, don’t get me started on how it failed with a neon strip light. This tape is a joke. Save your money and buy something else that actually works.
