I seldom write reviews, but this replacement grate for my Large Big Green Egg is amazing. Our original grate that is 16 years old was warped, cracked, and broken. Decided I would try this. It’s nice and heavy, fits perfectly. If you have a Large Egg, get the L-9 option and you’ll be super satisfied.

You can stop buying repeated 10.5" Weber wire grates for your Weber Smoky Joe Jr charcoal with this!! I doubt anyone would ever outlive this product. I put the beveled hole side UP to grab my briquettes a little to hold them where I push them using the grill tool for that. This unit allows you to scoot your coals right next to each other, where I had to kind of fuss with it with the Weber grate. BIG plus for me --- is if I'm going to the trouble to do a steak or something on my Smoky Joe Jr, I'm ALSO going to throw a handful of hickory, pecan or apple wood chips on it too. NO MORE seeing half your wood chips just PLOP into the bottom of the Weber grill, rather than stay put on top of the tighter briquettes!! Given the cost of wood chips this will pay for itself in far less chip waste, or having to dig em out of the bottom of the grill for next use. Even the few that do slip between the briquettes STILL smoke up - and that doesn't happen with the gaping gaps in the Weber factory grate. In the end, my wood chip usage has gone done, coals get plenty of air, and seem to keep making heat a bit longer than the factory grate. Plus, this makes using your air control on top much more functional by I suppose - slightly limiting the total air flow over the factory grate. This............ is better! Win - Win. When not in use, I store my Weber under a covered patio, but even with the humidity, no rust after 5 weeks. Not sure some would matter anyway as I doubt anyone would outlive this charcoal grate.

Needed a10.5” fire grate to replace a cracked one for my Kamodo. Best price I could find, next day delivery as promised, well packaged to prevent damage, product is as described. Quantity of the cast iron? I can’t say. If it lasts 4-5 years like my old one that’s fine for me. The Kamodos high heat 700-800 degrees for cooking pizzas or searing steaks takes a toll on the fire grate how long it holds up only time will tell. Will update review it grate fails. For now I’m pleased with my purchase. Aloha

The Dracarys Round Cast Iron Fire Grate, BBQ High Heat Charcoal Plate for Large Big Green Egg is a perfect fit! Our original ceramic grate lasted years but eventually cracked under hundreds of heat/cool cycles. This Cast Iron grate should last even longer. So glad I made the decision to buy the Dracarys grate. The thickness is just right. Not too heavy. It feels sturdy in the bottom of my Egg and there is nothing to assemble. I just removed my old cracked grate and fit this cast iron grate right inside. I would buy this again in an instant if needed.

Slightly smaller than the original Big Green Egg fire grate and not quite as thick. Does however fit in the fire bowl. Hopefully it will last OK with the heat it will be subjected to.

Fits well and I hope it lasts

Bought this as a replacement for the original BGE XL fire grate which developed a crack after about 10 years use. In about 6 months of use this one has sagged in the middle and now won't sit firmly on the supports in the fire box.
