This is a hard-plastic container filled with 30x fat, white sterilizing tablets for use in whirlpool/spa baths to keep the water pipes clean and free of bacterial growth. The earliest sign that your jacuzzi pipes are becoming contaminated is usually small black spots in the water when you start running the jets. You should use only one tab at a time, and it’s not necessary to deploy a tab after every time the whirlpool bath is used unless the bath is used very rarely, like less than one time/month. When you finish bathing, drop one of these tablets into the water and run the jets until the timer cuts the power (usually 30 minutes), then pull the plug and drain/clean the bath as usual. If used weekly-to-monthly it will keep the pipes in good condition and clean. The manufacturer claims you won’t need a second whirlpool bath full of cold water to rinse the cleaner out of the pipes. These tabs are also good for sterilizing dishwashers and garden water features powered by electric pumps, where bacteria may colonise the water pipes when not in active use.

I had used Dettol with my whirlpool bath as recommended by the manufacturer but it simply didn’t work. This Pure-Spa DID work though. All the built-up scum and scale came away with two deep cleans with this product. It does foam up as others have said but I found that by running the shower head over the foam it prevented it building too high.
