Really liked this hammer, not as light as I would have wanted but the rubber head makes it easy to look for reflexes. The "sharp tip" is not so sharp though, so if you want an instrument to really assess sensibility, maybe not the right choice.If you are looking for a lighter, though longer option (this hammer is 21.5 cm in total, including the head which can be positioned in two ways), try the Queen Square one, which is made of plastic, more flexible and has much sharper tip.

I love this hammer. Lightweight but solid point of contact, and competent swing arc. It is great for a neurology or PM&R-inclined medical student, in my opinion. Price is good when < 20 USD

Portable, good hammer for students.
I’m an MS1 in Canada and I love this reflex hammer. We have clinical skills twice a week, so I like to keep all my instruments in my backpack and not have to worry about whether I have something or not. His hammer is nice and compact, but still has the weight to it necessary to test reflexes. A neurologist will tell you the best kind of hammer is one that’s a little longer and has a plastic type handle, but this one has worked great for me.
