Coveted rice that is hard to get in North America
You can’t get this in the supermarket, and usually not even at an Italian grocery store. Highly recommended over Arborio.

Wonderful Rice for Risotto
Yes, it's expensive. Yes it's for rice snobs. But yes-- it's excellent rice. One of my staples along with vialone nano or for making risotto that melts in your mouth. Scotti provides this is heavy walled vacuum sealed bags-- which are usually consumed within a few weeks of arrival. It's a reliable brand. I usually reseal the bags and I never wash this rice before cooking with it. This is very different for other kinds of rice.

Not good for a creamy rice pudding
This rice is not good for creamy rice pudding - it has a earthy, "whole wheat-type" flavor to it that's off-putting in a rice pudding which should be creamy and rice shouldn't compete with vanilla. Would only be good for savory dishes.
