Alpine R2-S65C 6.5" R-Series High-Resolution 2-Way Component Speaker Set, Pair

Bought the previous generation so I had to buy Alpine’s new iteration. Sound is definitely crisp and clean. The build quality is exceptional. Everything I loved about the previous generation is present here with a touch above sound. If you’re looking for similar spec’d speakers and don’t want to spend the money for this recently released product, you’d be happy with last gen.

Great midbass off stock head unit cant wait to amplify them

As with all speakers of this caliber, they will require proper tuning with a DSP to sound good in your specific acoustic environment (car). People don’t talk enough about this topic, but it’s pointless to buy good aftermarket speakers without a way to tune them. I purchased the new Alpine Optim8 amp with a built-in DSP and a nice AutoEQ function. These speakers are very clear and detailed with incredible separation of frequencies to allow you to hear individual instruments very “deep” into the music. They are capable of producing a lot of mid bass as well. Apparently they fall right in line with similar speakers from Focal, and sound surprisingly high end for a reasonable price. Again, it’s all about the tuning with an RTA, AutoEQ, and the equalizer within the DSP.
