How many grams whole beans can the hopper hold?

This hopper is designed to be used with a single dose (20 grams), enough for one shot of espresso from an espresso machine (they usually cost over $1500 for this use-case). And then to use the squishy silicone accordion thingy to push the rest of the beans out using air to ensure precise amount of grinded beans in the portafilter for consistent shot times. If you are trying to buy this instead for cool looks or low-profile to fit under cabinet, I'd say enough for 5 cups (100g total). if you are doing pour-over, Id say enough for 2 cups.

I'm trying to blow everything but still getting about 1g retention. Why?

Most grinders have some degree of grounds retention. Generally dark roast coffees (my preference) are more oily, so there will be some retention. The single dose hopper does very well, but sometimes I use an old chopstick in the grounds shoot to knock out any retained grounds. Also, it helps if you use a product like GRINDZ to clean out your grinder.

Fits perfectly on my Eureka Mignon Crono. The quality of the silicone is good, and the aluminium lid feels heavy and well built. Coffee retention has gone down from 0.5g to almost 0.
