Asvel 7509 Rice Container Bin with Pour Spout Plastic Clear 2KG

I was looking to replace a 5kg rice retail container I'd been using since around the year 2000. Mainly due to worries over the container not being BPA free. Cue the Asvel 2kg rice storage container as seen here (which is billed as being BPA free). I knew it would take a few weeks to turn up (which it did) so no worries about that. The container itself is very well designed, im my opinion. It means you can buy a big bag or rice and pour 2kg a time into it. A good amount of rice to tide most people over for a while, you won't be rushing to refill the container. There are two places to grip the container, so you're less likely to drop it. The lid is rubber sealed and clips on fairly securely. There is a spout from which to pour the rice into the measuring cup provided, which also doubles as a screw on lid. I'm pleased with my purchase, which I consider to be a good quality product for a reasonable price. It looks smart on a pantry cupboard shelf.

Rice can be a nuisance to handle in bags. This goes nicely with my Zujiroshi rice cooker and Japanese rice washing bowl to make a set.

Very nice quality, came from Japan. The plastic is heavy duty and is well made. I tried to use it for cereal but the spout was too small for bigger pieces of cereal. Should be perfect for rice or other grains. Worth the price.

This is really useful with the measure cup included. Not as secure on the lid as would like but sturdy and highly recommended.

Perfect for what we wanted. A bit slow in delivery, but I was prepared for that having read previous reviews. The package comes from Japan - no problem with import duty. The Rice measuring cup is slightly bigger than we are used to, so having to learn to adjust potion sizes!
