It's advertised as a CC cream, yet many reviewers refer to it as a foundation. Which is it?

I purchased as a CC Cream (as described) expected it to be more like a moisturizer.

How do you know what color you use ?

I went to the reviews to see people with similar skin complexion and guessed by doing that. It was too dark for me, I think I will try a shade lighter next time.
