So I did tons of research before giving this mount a try and boy was it worth it. The biggest selling point was the ability to not only face the pool, but rotate 180 degrees to be viewed from other areas of the patio. I read a lot of reviews, so I figured I'd pay it back. This mount was used on an enclosed overhang on the patio with a 65" Roku tv (35 lbs). I'd rather pay $399 for a new tv every few years than pay for an "outdoor tv". Yes, this mount is made for 16" spacing in your joists. Not ideal since most are 24" apart, but not something you can't overcome. I used decking screws to secure a 36" x 16" piece of teakwood from Lowes to the joists and placed the mount on that. It's a bit expensive and I could have just used 2x4's, but my wife was not having it! The only thing that could have been better is adding an outlet to the mount for the tv to cut down on the wires being everywhere. It might have cleaned the wires up a bit, but I understand some slack is required for the mount to rotate. We had an electrician come and install an outlet near where I put the mount up and it's at least better than running a cord up there. Bottom line, we are very pleased with this mount. It does open and close slowly, but it's not a big deal. It is extremely sturdy and gives us more options than the one that just flips down. If you're thinking about it, go for it!

We purchased the VIVO Electric Flip Down Swiveling Ceiling TV Mount for our enclosed lanai, which has two glass walls and two stucco walls. Since our sofa faces the length of the room toward the glass, we had no choice but to mount the TV from the ceiling. The mount works great and performs exactly as advertised—it securely holds our 60" TV and operates smoothly. The only drawback is that it doesn’t swivel a full 360 degrees, which we would have preferred for greater flexibility.

I tried to give this a 5 Star review but it would only go to 4! Excellent product and easy setup. Would highly recommend this hanger.

We got this last April and it worked great. This June it pooped out on us. I contacted Vivo support by email, as it’s hard for me to know when I can schedule a phone call. I sent the first email Sunday evening. Monday morning I got a reply with a troubleshooting suggestion. Tried it when I got home. Didn’t work. Tuesday morning got a reply with another suggestion. Didn’t work. Wednesday morning got a reply with another suggestion. Didn’t woork. Thursday morning got a reply stating others replace it. Friday evening I received the replacement via UPS. I love the functionality of the mount, which I expected. What I didn’t expect was the responsiveness of the customer service dept. Any mounts I need in the future will be Vivi mounts.

Nice tv mount. When the tv is follow lowered, it is still at an angle of around 10 degrees or so. Cannot see any way for the tv to be completely perpendicular (0 degrees). It would have been nice if the instructions included someone about spacing from walls. I mounted this in my outdoor patio and accounted for enough space for it to close without hitting anything. However, it will not rotate 180 degrees as it will hit my upper ceiling post. So, I have to take it all down/apart, drill new holes another 2.5 inches for so from the current holes, and put it all back together.

This item works very well outside. Easy to mount and easy to use. Moves a 70lb tv with ease.

Works perfectly, mounted easily. Only recommendation is that VIVO should make a broad Star Kingboard type plate to distribute the mount pressure. I found the plates that mounted to the ceiling made indents so I stopped and fabricated a 1/2" thick, rectangular 'footing' plate and I routed a 1/4" edge on it. I also ordered 1/2" longer, black lag screws and washers. VIVO support noted they would pass on to R&D and were helpful in assessing my modfication. But again- it is simply amazing and was worth the price; we have an open floor plan and it's wonderful to rotate the TV from the dining area to the living room area. The mount is also pretty flush for the amount of weight and motors the mount has to accommodate. I think I may get one for my daughter and son-in-law; it's fantastic!

Its been about a year and a half and it still works perfect. Make sure you mount it somewhere solid. Its awkward and pretty heavy. The only thing I can fault it for so far is the fact that it super crazy slow to deploy. Really not a big deal overall. Thumbs up.

This is a great device! I am so glad I put my TV on the ceiling ! It saves a ton of space and makes it much better to watch it while relaxing in bed. The best part: TV will not get dusty as much... no finger prints... it will stay nicer for longer up there. Just MAKE SURE YOU screw the oarts into the wooden joists of your ceiling and that it is bolted nice and strong. It truly takes two people to handle the installation job. I am VERY PLEASED with this ! I highly recommend it!

Honestly, installation took a long time, the manual wasn't the easiest thing to follow, it didn't give enough instructions to follow. However, once installed. We were extremely happy with the end product. It held up the TV very well, It's so beautiful to hang in the living room. And it's a lot cheaper than the alternatives

The product is designed for 16" centred trusses. We have 600mm (near 24") so special support system had to be made. After that the installation was well described but not all that easy for a 78 year old. With help to install the TV,it was successful
