Brilliant!
I came back from holiday to find 40 mole hills of various ages, with two or three new ones appearing every morning. Installed this, and the result was an immediate halt in mole hill production. Today the first new mole hill has appeared -- it is 37 yards from the device, which corresponds well with the manufacturer's claim that it is effective over a radius of 38 metres. So I need either to reposition my device (they say tree roots and foundations interfere with its working, so that may not quite do the job) or buy a second one... Highly recommended (and I will update this review if it stops working at any point). OK -- I've learned a lesson the hard way. There was no rain for ten days, so I watered my lawn quite heavily (actually more heavily than I had intended -- I set the sprinkler going and forgot about it for an hour or two). Of course this made the soil soft and easy going for moles and they promptly returned, digging everywhere. The ground has now dried out, rain has fallen, and my soil is no different from the surrounding area, so they have scarpered. So the lesson is if you make your lawn very, very attractive these things won't work. But they will work fine if your lawn is no more attractive than the surrounding area.

ABSOLUTE CON.
I have four of these devices and I am now convinced that they are designed to attract moles . Shortly after placing them in the soil mole hills appears all around them. Perhaps you have to wait till the moles pop their heads out then hit them with a shovel ! ABSOLUTE RUBBISH MONEY MAKING JOKE ITEM

... obliterated lawn and dug a few hills on my beautiful lawn, so it was try this or dig ...
I HAD a mole which appeared from my neighbours already obliterated lawn and dug a few hills on my beautiful lawn, so it was try this or dig it out and disect it with joy. Unfortunately for my sanity, the solar repeller worked with satisfaction and my neighbours have more hills than the pennines!! But for me peace and tranquility in my garden, yes it works, and although it makes a buzz noise every minute it is hardly noticeable and quite frankly, I don't care how loud it is when it does the job!!! well done manufacturer for a well made metal spike with good quality solar panel which works well even in wet dull conditions!! A great buy and highly recommended, visible results in 3 days and 2 weeks later still no MOLES!!!!! Keep it a secret from the neighbours and enjoy.

Effective but not 100% waterproof.
amazingly these really work well, my daughter had a big mole problem and we purchased one of these not expecting it to work but it did! Unfortunately they get badly affected by water ingression which stops them working, so I have just purchased my third one, but will silicone seal all the areas of possible water ingression. The 5 stars is for the effectiveness of the product, I would only give 2 or 3 stars for product longevity.

Beware of false mole idols.
I would like to warn anybody thinking of purchasing this device to stop and read my advice. Not only did the device fail to get rid of the mole but the sonic vibrations seemed to attract the mole. After just two days this product had become some sort of idol to the moles and they made lots of little mole hills in the shape of an Inverted Pentagram with their vibrating idol in the centre. This device had escalated what was a single mole annoyance into a cult of moles with sinister intentions. Thankfully I did find a solution on the interweb and it worked perfectly. All you need is a high pressure hose, tennis racket and tube of Vaseline. Simply insert the hose into the most recent mole hole and turn the water on. This forces the mole to ejaculate from one of its pesky holes and shoot a few feet into the air. At this point you swing at it with the tennis racket and try to knock it into your neighbour’s garden. I made the fundamental error telling my neighbour about my intentions and to my disappointment he was ready and waiting with his own tennis racket. After about 90 seconds of mole tennis I got distracted by my camel mosaic and my neighbour produced a stunning backhander to return the mole to its lost idol. I was lucky as my other neighbour is a very old lady and I managed to take her down in just two sets. The Vaseline was used as a celebratory lubricant.

Only partially effective...
This has been very difficult to review, as its effectiveness seems to have varied a great deal over time. First impressions were positive - easy to put in place, and through long summer and shorter winter days the solar panel has kept it buzzing every few minutes. It was purchased to persuade a mole in a small area of lawn to head back to the neighbouring field it seemed to have arrived from...having raised over a dozen mole hills it had made quite a mess. At first this seemed to do the job - buzzing away and no more mole hills. Then, a few weeks later, and despite still buzzing the mole (or moles) was back with a vengeance.... Cut forward a few weeks and the mole has moved to another small lawn, leaving the one with the mole spike alone... So how can I sum this up? This is not a guaranteed solution to moles. It does though seem to have some success at times; my best guess this is largely down to the weather and how wet or dry the ground is and in turn how effective the pulses this sends out at deterring the moles. If you are looking at only a non lethal solution it may be worth a try, but the conventional traps are likely to be the more effective solution if moles are a real problem for your garden.

Holey Moley!
Holey moley! I'm not sure Im doing this is right or maybe I have some sort of mutant superhero moles but 'Houston, we have a problem' and we have waaaaaay more molehills since putting 4 of these into our garden. One super mole, or maybe it was a group effort, managed to push one whole device out of the ground and removed the top half and broke the wires! Now, where there was only 2 or 3 molehills before there are now entire civilisations with 15+ mole mountains! Not sure if it is time to give in and offer a sacrifice to the mole gods or just accept my muddy garden of mole topography. I have still given 2 stars because the devices were delivered quickly and as an animal lover, I feel like I'm doing something to support and promote mole numbers.

Simple - it works
We have a large lawn, measuring approx. 50 metres by 15 metres. Until three years ago we were constantly plagued with moles, often waking up in the morning to find 20 or 30 hills scattered around the garden. We purchased one of these after several other attempts to repel the creatures had completely failed. The first unit was planted in the centre of the lawn at one end where the mole activity was the worst. Within two days we saw no more hills at that end of the garden. Delighted, we purchased a second identical unit and placed this at the other end. Since then we have seen only one, small, mole hill in the entire garden. In three years. Could this be a coincidence? I don't think so. This device has worked for us, and very well indeed. The two units are now located at the far edge of the garden in the border flower beds (out of the way of the lawn mower, obviously!!), buzzing away and maintenance free.
