is it too easy for a 12 year old??

I solved it by chance in about 5 minutes, but I suspect there are many solutions, as there are four identical pieces (the "L" shapes).If your 12 year old finds it easy, then get them a SOMA cube by Piet Hein (I have the Oxford one). Its 7 pieces are all different, and it is much harder. It comes solved, in a box. I photographed every move as I dismantled it!
