Murray corded electric mower
What an excellent mower. Fairly heavy but very manageable. Height adjustment just great. Cuts beautifully.,Grass collection box easily detachable box and does what it says on the tin. Great value mower for the price. Powerful 1600 motor. Cannot complain about this mower. Highly recommended even for the very keen gardener

Great value and quality feel
Great value and with a 5yr guarantee. First time I’ve used a lawnmower for over 12 years but faced with front and rear gardens in my new house I’ve spent a lot of time deciding which lawn mower to get. I swayed between getting a cordless or electric then once I’d decided on corded for the value and power it was then down to which manufacturers to choose from. So after trolling through all the reviews for the established big companies I decided on this Murray mower after all the positive reviews. So now for the main info. The setup was not was easy as it should be though to be fair it’s only fitting two parts of a handle together then attaching the grass box. The main issue was that the screw assemblies were different supplied than shown in the manual. Anyway once this issue was resolved (10 mins to convince it was ok) it was onto the garden. This is where I gained the most confidence in the product. You get a great range of height adjustment which I used both ends of the range for different parts of the front and rear lawns. No problems it just cut through with no fuss and with a great results. The grass box held enough grass to mean little emptying was needed and also simple to empty. After the grass was cut there was little cleaning required and it was placed into the garage (didn’t bother to attempt folding the handle) The whole mower feels like good quality and I like the fact it’s got metal blades as my last mower used plastic ones which were easily damaged. Can speak for long term ownership but if there are any problems hopefully the long warranty will cover it, but so far so good

Great little mower
Smaller than my old Qualcast which lasted 20 years . Compact size , small grass box than I’m used . First time of using it cut great. Just hope it keeps it up. Some say cable is short , I found it was able size still needed an extension cable. Was a bit fiddly to put together. As there was no instructions. Screw missing to hold the cable holder but one was found , Great little mower at present

Disappointed
I purchased this on reading various reviews which seemed positive. Sadly I am disappointed in the quality. Very flimsy lightweight plastic which I can’t see lasting long. The handle has to be put onto the main base which would be fine if the holes lined up properly. The basket is fiddly to put together and again made of very flimsy plastic. I may be dim but it would have also helped if they added you need to buy a particular type of extension lead so you can use it as though saying corded it is a extremely short cord which needs a particular cable. I’m sure there is no mention of this on purchasing. The instruction manual is also poor. It would help if they showed a colour photograph of the product completely assembled.

A pleasant surprise upon receipt !!!
Needing a new mower, and looking at the most popular brands, but not happy with the similar high price tags most all had, but then I noticed this model, which at first sight looked impressive and seemed to have all the same features as all the others had, but at a cheaper price, and with a 5-year guarantee included as well, so I bought one and very pleased that I did too, it cuts the grass just as it should, it has 7 different cutting heights which are easy to alter with the well-positioned lever on the top side, the grass collection facility is good with a large volume bin for the cuttings which is easy to empty, the side combs seem to work well pulling in the grass from the edges, and I also liked the option to use the mulching attachment included, instead of collecting the cut grass. The mower seems to cope with longer grass good too, but I think it is better to be done in stages, reducing the cutting height each time, which doesn't add any extra effort on the motor, the wheels are a good size with larger ones at the rear, which makes it easier to maneuver than other makes I have owned in recent years, it doesn't have a rear roller so it doesn't leave stripes on the grass, but I can live without that, the very basic instructions on how to assemble the handle could be clearer, although it isn't hard to work out how its done, however, the grass collection box could be a better design, as sometimes it loses some of the clippings from underneath, which are the only 2 faults I can find worth a mention, all things considered, this is a good machine to cut a lawn with, and leaves similar results in appearance, as a more expensive mower would do, and is a good buy for the asking price

Better than my Bosch Rotak!
My Rotak finally died having provided 5 years of solid service (and follwing a winter outside the shed!!) so I looked for another as it was so good - no joy as Bosch appear to have done away with the 43cm model (and prices appear to have gone skyward..) OK - I've got a Gerdena manual and an E-Go battery mower, so this corded mower is the spring/autumn go-to model so I decided to put up with a slightly smaller and eminently cheaper replacement.. Never heard of Murray but the reviews (Amazon and elsewhere) were positive, so I ordered the 37cm version. What a stroke of good fortune! Easier to manoeuvre than the Rotak, lighter, larger grass capacity and decent lowest cut height! It's well made, powerful and easy to put together and store and it cost 124 quid!!! If it lasts 3-4 years it beats the Bosch when cost is factored in - fingers crossed but I can't see it failing!

A very good small, lightweight mower
I did a fair bit of research before buying this - had had a small Bosch mower beforehand but the handle broke and so was looking for something else. I was a bit unsure at first as I had not heard of Murray much before but its make of motor provides some reassurance. I am very pleased with this mower - it's excellent. It's lightweight and so is very easy to manoeuvre. The handle is very well designed - running the width of the mower and is padded so you can grip it in any position and it's comfortable. I actually put mine on with the handle pointing down which I think makes it more comfortable and easier to use. It does mean the power cable goes cross-ways over the front but it's not a problem at all. Similarly, the stop handle is easy to keep hold of. Good choice of cutting heights and easy adjustment. Grass box holds a lot of grass and with the sides being mesh it makes it easier to empty. The only neutral (not negative) thing to say is that it hasn't got a roller so you don't get stripes if that's your thing, but the compromise is it does make it lighter without. You can get up close to walls etc. I do think that the power cable would be better being orange, as with other mowers, rather than black as it does make it harder to notice when mowing. I really like this mower, it makes mowing the lawn a bit less tedious. You won't be disappointed if you get it.

OK mower for the money
Bought to replace my old Bosch 40cm cut mower which failed after 8 years of service and not now available. This is not a bad mower for the money and does a decent job of cutting my fairly large lawns. despit some other reviews, I found it easy to assemble (took about 20 minutes) and didn't bother with the less than clear assembly instructions. You generally get what you pay for and this mower is no exceptioin to that rule - not in the same league as my old Bosch. Good points: Easy to assemble, light weight, powerful motor, lots of height adjustment (which is simple) Bad points: very short power cable requiring a long, female plug extension lead, no roller - so no stripes, a bit too light for my liking, so bounces around if pushed quickly over eneven lawn surfaces, grass box a bit tricky to seat correctly - leaves lines of cut grass at the side of the mower if you're not careful, grass pick up is not great if grass is a bit damp - grass easily compacts in a wet mess on the underside of the mower which needs to be removed frequently, generally more flimsy than my old Bosch. Time will tell how long this mower lasts, but I'm not hopeful that it will match my old Bosch. To fix the power lead issue, I cut the power lead from my old Bosch mower and joined to the short cable on the new Murray. I also removed the cable wrapping clips from my Bosch and attached to the Murray (it doesn't have any) - not everyone may have the kit or confidence to do this. Would I buy again - No Update : After using this mower for a few months, I wish I had bought from an established mower brand. The underside of the mower has a curious flat profile and grass pick up is poor. Unless the grass is absolutely bone dry, trails of clippings are left on either side of the mower which means going over every cut at least twice. Cutting my lawns now takes twice the time that it did with my bosch. Also, compacted grass builds up rapidly on the underside of the mower, which requires frequent stops to clear to avoid large lumps being deposited at random as you mow. The mower is also noisy and has an annoying high pitched whine in operation. This mower will be receiving no maintenance in the hope that it blows up so that I can justify buying a new one. In summary, the worst mower I have ever owned by a country mild - my advice if you value your sanity would be to pay a little extra and stick to an established mower brand.
