Simple, Effective Tool for Soil Screening
I have used a few different sifters for compost and garden soil, and this one does a solid job for basic screening tasks. The 1/4 inch mesh size works well for removing larger debris, rocks, and clumps while allowing finer soil and compost to pass through easily. It fits securely over a standard 5 gallon bucket, which makes the process cleaner and more controlled compared to handheld screens. The frame feels sturdy enough for regular garden use, and the mesh holds up well when shaking or rubbing soil through it. It is lightweight and easy to handle, though for very large batches it can take some time since you are working bucket by bucket. Considering the durability, practical design, and how much easier it makes preparing soil for planting or seed starting, it offers good value for the money for home gardeners.

Very happy with quality. Heavy duty mesh.
These work great. They are way more durable and thick than I imagined they would be. They fit nearly perfect over a 5 gallon bucket. I used the larger mesh to sift compost to remove larger debris. Worked great and does not show any signs of wear. I used the smaller mesh to sift worm castings. Also worked great for that.

Essential Tool for Gardeners - Sturdy and Effective!
The YUEBM 3/8 Inch Mesh Gardening Sand Soil Compost Sifter has been a game-changer for maintaining my flower beds. This tool is incredibly sturdy, making it perfect for sifting out rocks and debris from soil or compost. I use it primarily with a 5-gallon bucket, and it fits perfectly, making the sifting process efficient and straightforward. The 3/8 inch mesh size is just right for my needs, allowing fine soil to pass through while catching larger rocks and clumps. What impresses me most is the durability of this sifter. It's well-made and shows no signs of wear despite regular use. The handles are strong and comfortable to grip, adding to its overall ease of use. If you're serious about maintaining your garden beds or compost pile, I highly recommend investing in this sifter. It's a reliable tool that gets the job done efficiently and effectively. Five stars without a doubt!

Solid Construction
Fits on a 5gal bucket and the mesh holds shape, NOT cheap like a kitchen strainer. Mesh is a good size for sifting potting mix.

Works as it should
This fits nicely in the top of a 5 gal bucket. I used it to sift compost and make seed starting mix. Works as it should. I gave it a 4 because I wish it was just slightly larger between the mesh.

Such a deal!
WOW. Just arrived today. Could not be more impressed with the quality and sturdiness. They even fit my 5 gallon buckets that have Gamma screw on lids. I thought the ring that gets added on might make the opening too small. Being able to sift potting mix directly into the bucket will be great- then screw on the lid and DONE! I can also see using it for harvest- collect the produce, rinse it with the hose, and into the kitchen it goes. No, it's not stainless steel. If it was, it would have said so. Just let it dry out when you are not using it and store it properly. Such a deal for a 1/8" and 1/4" strainer.

It works as intended. Durable.
I use the 1/4” basket to filter out rocks, bark, trash, dirt clods and others. It works effectively. The 1/8” basket filters effectively filters out smaller pebbles and helps you obtain finer particles like top soil or fertilizer soil. Both baskets are lightweight, easy-to-use and strong enough to support a full basket. I have not seen rust so far. I left them out overnight and they were damp the next morning, but no rust so far. Both baskets sit flush and are stable on a typical 5 gallon bucket from your local hardware store. I wish there was a stand that could separate both baskets, while you place both of them over the bucket—for efficiency, i like to place the 1/8 basket on the bucket. Then i put 2 medium sized stones in the 1/8 basket to create space when i put the 1/4 basket on top. I fill the 1/4 basket with soil and bark. I pick up the 1/4 basket and sift (shake) over the 1/8 basket. I dump the bark elsewhere and set the 1/4 basket aside. Now, i can pick up the 1/8 basket and sift (shake) over the bucket to collect the fertilizer and soft soil that i need. Overall, these filter baskets are highly recommended.

Using this with a 15l bucket to sift wood pellet cat litter when cleaning out the cat litter trays. This is a very solid item, zero flex and perfectly made. Seems like it will last me decades.

These sifters work great! I am using them to sift out 1/2 inch stones from a patch in my yard to make a new garden. They're good and sturdy enough to get smaller jobs done.

This garden soil sieve is brilliant. It makes the job so much easier, quickly separating stones, roots, and clumps from the soil so I’m left with a nice fine texture for planting. It feels sturdy, well made, and easy to use. Perfect for preparing pots or garden beds—highly recommend for anyone who enjoys gardening

I use it to separate rock from dirt in a section of land that used to hold a shed. It has layers of dirt and various grades of rock and gravel. The sifter works great for separating gravel from dirt. I use the dirt sifter. It fits the 5 gallon bucket perfectly, and the 3/8 inch mesh is perfect for this type of sifting the lawn and the rock to renew gravel pathways. It was a great price and works famously. I would not be as happy with my project if I did not have this sifter.
