I was a bit apprehensive when getting this as a present but I was pleasantly surprised! Instructions were very clear, definitely follow them to make sure you don’t end up with a ruined mould with a million bubbles! I ended up using this with mine and my partners hand and the detail on the mould is incredible. You also get a couple of tools to help knock off any excess plaster or air bubbles. It’s a bit tricky pulling your hands out so be patient and try not to tear it at the top. Felt like it was a good size bucket, and good enough for size for most things you’d put in a mould. And yes, it would probably fit that too. If you’re looking for a unique and affordable gift to get someone then totally consider this!

The idea is great but molding compound didn't work and looked like watery Porridge. Wishy washy instructions and if it had worked not enough molding compound; not enough for adult couple looking to create that special momento. From mixing instructions it states between 1.5ltrs to 2.5ltrs of water for provided molding mix, I used 2ltrs of room temperature water, this barely filled half bucket container provided (that's with inserting 2 adult hands into). Still got 2nd compound, might be able to use for some diy job. On the whole, great idea but my batch of molding compound not adequate for job (didn't set as stated and insufficient).

I've made silicon moulds before, but never alginate. The kit arrived quickly after I ordered it and we set to work Friday morning moulding my son's hand. The instructions were clear and everything went to plan. Friday and Saturday were very busy, and I didn't get time to mix and pour the plaster until Sunday morning. The alginate had started to shrink from the sides of the bucket, and there was bright pink liquid sitting in the mould. I poured that out, mixed up the plaster and poured it in. The plaster opened up a tear in the mould that wasn't there before (I think the alginate weakened as it was sat there for 48 hours) and started appearing around the edges of the bucket. It's still setting, so I don't know how it'll turn out, but I'm guessing I'll be busy with the sandpaper, if it's salvageable at all. I've read the instructions thoroughly and it doesn't specify anywhere that I can find that the alginate mould is only usable for a day or so after making. It's my first time using alginate and it just didn't occur to me that the cast should be made immediately. I tried to feedback to the company to maybe add this into their instruction sheet, but neither to QR code not directly typing in their web address works, I just get a 'this site cannot be reached' message. Hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistake! 4 stars as I think the kit would have worked perfectly if we'd poured the plaster in straightaway, I took 1 star off for not telling me alginate moulds have a short shelf life!

Worked really well, super impressed! One thing the instructions don’t say is not to fill with liquid plaster past your actual hand top - we had to cut open the bucket as I overfilled thinking I had to use it all (oops).
