A smart purchase for keeping cool
With temperatures on the rise again and last summer being hotter than ever we've gone for an AC unit rather than relying on fans this year and what a good investment this will prove to be. Firstly it's on wheels so moving it around is made considerably easier due to the 4 corner casters as well as having side handles to hold. It weighs around 25kg so is moveable but you may like to do it as a pair if you're carrying up/down stairs. The air conditioning unit offers the option of cooling, fan and dehumidifying. We've used the cooling function mainly at the moment but have tried dehumidifying which resulted in a good collection of water. The handy window kit allows you to vent the hot air from the rear of the unit safely out the window and seems to work reasonably well; I think we'll end up getting some kind of foam board to fit our unusual shaped window. The fan speed options are good although I think some may find the noise level a little high if you were using it to sleep overnight; that said we've tried it in the 3-4 hours before bed and it keeps the room nice and cool like when you're abroad on holiday. The fan settings are really good and the highest one really moves the air around nicely. using the louvered front blades you can direct the airflow as you wish, the lever inside to move the flow from left to right is reasonably good but a little tricky to initially find. The remote and buttons are good and whilst they take a little while to respond are absolutely easy enough to use for anyone especially if read in conjunction initially with the instruction manual. The air filters at the back easily clip on and off for cleaning. For ease of use, nice design and functionality we're delighted with this unit and definitely would recommend it to others. It is an investment but it'll do a considerably better job this summer than a fan could. Here's to hot weather!!

Chilly Comfort!
So, it’s getting to that time of year again when the heat is starting to creep up - and this time I decided to get ahead of the game and get myself a portable AC for a change. I have a mounted AC in the bedroom but the guest room which is being re-done in a month needs some cooling system, hence my purchase. Arrived pretty quickly, always great to have quick & free delivery for Prime members. But it is pretty big, comes up to about waist level and its 24kg - I managed on my own but might be worth having someone there just in case. It is very well packed and protected. Inside you have the remote control, window kit, and manual.Boldly written on the carton is a warning that you need to leave the unit to stand for at least 6hrs after being delivered due to it having gas that might have been moved around during delivery - which I did. The unit itself is obviously plastic but very sturdy - you can tell there is nothing cheap about this. It's really well made. Impressed. To switch it on you simply plug it into the socket and press the button, and presto - its on. (Obviously remember to follow the instructions and attach the hose at the back first ) Now there are 3 settings - AC, Fan & Humidifier. I have only tested the AC part till now, and must say its pretty powerful - even matching my mounted AC. Within 20 minutes I had to put on another layer of clothing. Not extremely noisy either. Pros 1. Portable (with tires) 2. Chills the room pretty quickly 3. Remote controlled 4. Could be used as humidifier & fan 5. Looks great in any room. Cons (If you can even call it a con) 1. The water hose attachments work for sliding windows or sash windows, not casement windows. Lucky for me I am getting a new window for the guest room so will switch to a sash window so the window kit can fit perfectly. 2. It is not as quiet as my wall mounted AC - but then again it did not disturb me watching a movie, or having a nap. Verdict No regrets whatsoever - for a fraction of the price I get to chill my room as good as a wall mounted AC. And the knowledge that I have a humidifier as well - cannot fault it. Pretty unit too - looks so posh.

Good cooling, a bit noisy. Make sure windows are sealed for efficiency.
I got this when it was cold to avoid the stampede of summer aircon buyers this year. I also bought an acrylic sheet kit for the window with a hole cut for the pipe and sealed it, as most kits for this sort of thing don't fit UK swing out windows very well. Once you've got a good seal for the window to improve the efficiency, this unit will cool a bedroom pretty effectively. The remote control is helpful. I got very little condensation which is good. The only bad points with this unit are 1) it is very noisy and 2) it won't try to go lower than 16 degrees but that seems standard for these mobile units.

Worth the money!
This unit saves me in summer. I live in a flat which gets pretty unbearable once the temperature is over 25 degrees, and this unit works wonders. It’s heavy but is on wheels so is easy to move round, installation was also quite straightforward. My energy bill didn’t see much change during the period, I was using this so would definitely say that it’s energy efficient. The unit isn’t loud but there’s a humming noise that might bother some people (if you’re used to sleeping in silence).

Not as cold as I expected
I bought this ahead of the heat wave last week. I've had window-mounted ACs in the past (in a country where it was more common) and so that is the only reference I have for comparison. Cooling performance: It is fine, but not as cold as expected. We run this on a 2rd floor of an attached town home, where heat really gets trapped. When it was 30ºC out, this brought it down to 25º. So, definitely does cool things down somewhat. This is rated 7000 BTU, so I thought it would be good for the entire floor which fits within the rating. It seems to struggle doing just the room that it's in. In all fairness, it is up against the sun, the hot air rising, neighbors and heat trapped in the attic. However, I have lived in similar scenarios with a window-mounted AC and that seemed like it did a bit better. Maybe in part due to there not being a hose that will inevitably leak some exhaust (but not too much). The reviews here have really made me think this performs miracles and I would say it makes heat waves livable but nothing near the 20º I set it to. Noise: It's more noisy than I expected after reading other reviews. It takes awhile to get used to the sound of the condenser and our first nights sleeping with it was not easy. My partner finds it very unnerving and too noisy. I also really dislike that after it reaches the set temperature, the fan noise is still quite loud and does not turn off with the condenser, so it's not like it's only part of the night that it's noisy. It's the entire night. Setup: It was almost perfect, I just have one criticism. While they do give instructions and they're well-written, there is a major miss on how you actually get the nut and screw into the window panel. I figured it out (I think..?) after awhile to stop the pane from moving once it's fixed into the window. But given the danger here of it falling out the window onto a busy street when you disconnect the hose, I would recommend the manufacturer be a bit more specific about the screw part because I personally don't think it's incredibly obvious and it's not written anywhere. Overall, it was worth it to me this week but given the concerns above I don't think we'll be using it unless it's really bad out. If I had the opportunity to try other units without putting more money into it, I certainly would've. It's a gamble when you buy these off Amazon. I gave an extra star for being a sturdy unit and easy to wheel around.

This really works. And works well
Efficient, compact and works well This is a very good product. It arrived quickly and was very well packaged. I found it too heavy to lift but my husband was able to carry it upstairs without a problem and it’s in our bedroom which gets too warm in summer. I’ve always used a fan in this room but they really just moves the warm air around and we decided we needed something better. This is much better. It properly cools the room down, and quickly too. It’s slightly smaller than I had expected which is a good thing- it’s not unattractive but I like that it is small enough to be discreet sitting in a corner. The remote control is very handy for controlling it from the other side of the room. The enclosed window kit was easy enough to to install (and the instructions good) and it can be removed too after the summer. I liked that you don’t have to start drilling holes in walls. This also has a dehumidifier function which I think may come in useful when drying walls after decorating etc and this unit has caster wheels so can be moved from room to room fairly easily. And it can be used as a fan too. We’ve had a hot spell the last few days and this has been invaluable- it has kept our bedroom cool and we have been able to sleep well. I’m tempted to buy another for downstairs. Definitely worth the price.

Expletive expletive wow. Thermodynamics
Should have had added a picture really. Just testing it out before summer hits and I tried to set it up in the most hermetically sealed small room possible after running a very powerful PC and getting the room to 27° Celsius took 20 minutes on low to get to room down to 18.9 Celsius I was impressed. If you set it up correctly follow all the guidelines this thing really kicks and moves heat from one place to another as said previously I was quite joyous and amazed with my little physics project but I know I am going to really enjoy it when summer hits the sound is quite loud on high but it is a low a drone and it probably help me to sleep to tell you the truth I have slept with other air conditioning units in other countries and the sound is exactly the same a fan and a compressor unit and it's like white noise to me I'm going to really enjoy this I think. I cannot testify for the longevity but to me the build quality and the design that's gone into this looks above average as in very decent it pulled the heat out of the air extraordinary fast I have only tested it in one small bedroom nearly sealed room apart from the exhaust gases that were exhausting out of the main window the only slight slight pain in the bum is that most UK windows are not sliding windows from left to right they are either pushed out or push in but I bought a solution for that and let me just tell you the physics experiment on thermodynamics with this unit worked extraordinary well. On the unit itself has a very good display cooling settings are only high and low I will probably have it running on no most of the time. The remote control is basic but good the digital display on the unit gives you clear look at the temperature you have set it on the unit is compact which I really like especially because I'll be using it in bedrooms. There is also two methods too train the dehumidified water from the air from the unit you can either drain it all at once as it has a small tank at the bottom where it collects or you can put a pipe that they provided it and fix your own little tank I right now I have a two litre plastic bottle for the experiment but yes very very impressed so far so far so far so good. If you're anything like me and you put your hand on the exhaust vent that is hanging out the window and it's feels like a hair dryer on hi it is quite satisfying and I did this little experiment on January the 20th at 10:00 AM in the morning outside is 2°C wales

Not 9000 BTU
This KGOGO model is not 9000 BTU, it is actually 7000 BTU. Check the Specification sticker on the unit when it arrives.
