I purchased a guitar with a Floyd Rose recently from a friend, and it ended up being a good investment, as I paid bottom dollar for the guitar, and it filled a niche in my collection, and generally has its own unique character. However, I found that there was a big learning curve when it came to the Floyd Rose vibrato system, and I had a lot of trouble getting the bridge to stay level when I was stringing the guitar. It was challenging to replace strings in the first place, and nigh impossible after I made the mistake of removing the old strings entirely. I saw that many people recommend putting something underneath to block the vibrato system, but I could find nothing suitable around the house, so when I saw this online, I figured it was worth a shot, and it did exactly what I needed it to. I have no problems with changing the strings anymore, and while I'm not still not entirely sure if the Floyd Rose is worth the trouble compared to the vibrato system on my beloved Jazzmaster and Jaguar, it's easy to set-up with this TremBlock. It's just a piece of metal, so I don't know what more to say, but it's getting the job done admirably. There may be cheaper options, but this was worth it to me.

Over the years being a musician and doing guitar repairs and set ups especially at the time all my guitars had Floyd roses on it and they were such a pain in the butt to change the strings the only way I found out about this as I was looking for Lutheran tools and I came across this so I decided to purchase it and it’s like night and day easy to use and you do not damage your paint , it’s so easy to use a caveman can do it lol all you have to do is push down on your tremolo bar slide the Unit under your Floyd or copy where the little chrome tabs are where you put the Allen key to loosen up and the string braces and then slowly release it until I put pressure on the unit and you’re ready to change your strings, just reverse the process when you have your streaks on make sure you someone have a good tension on the strings before we moving the unit ,,just to give you some help on tuning your strings and your Floyd Rose make sure you put the tuning posts on your Floyd Rose or copy in about 50% so when you tune your guitar using the tuners on your headstock it’ll be much easier when do you lock down your neck you’ll have some play To tune your guitar #2 change one string at a time it’ll be much easier to tune your guitar faster and you won’t sit there for a half hour trying to get tune to Standard E tuning and make sure you stretch your string just a light little tug a few times especially on the low E,A and D,,,,

This saves so much time when setting up guitars. Could I use a 9-volt battery? Sure, as long I get the electrical tape wraps correct. Could I use a popsicle stick? Yep, done that. BUT, that little “up kick” on the end makes setting and removing the TremBlock such a breeze. It functions exactly like it supposed to. Yes, there are some knockoffs that are cheaper…but it’s not like this thing is expensive. Purchase the good one the first time and save the aggravation. Every FR user should have this in their toolbox.

This is the most important tool you need to change your strings on a floyd rose or similar floating bridges. It make so much easier. Really easy. Just drop your whammy and slide it under the bridge.

This works as advertised, but I've since bought wooden blocks with gradual steps that sit between the trem block and wood of the guitar that work much better. In a pinch this will work, but you don't have adjustability options for the height of your tremolo if that's what you want. This works best IMO for sitting under a floyd rose while you set it up to float, not so much if you want to float a strat trem for significant upwards bending.

If you have a recessed trem system, you'll want this for string changes. Makes life easier. It provides enough lift to reduce string tension and access to the string lok and getting the Allen wrench to unlock Now instead of having one hand pressing the arm down while trying get the string in the lock while the other hand operates the Allen wrench you have one hand just placing the string. The underside of this protects the guitar with a foam like bottom. Won't damage anything. Love this thing

Works very well for assisting in changing guitar strings. I have been using for over a year with no issues.
