VOTATU PMD504-R Multiple Reticle Red Dot Sight RMR Footprint

The header is an actual quote from the RSO at my local range The VOTATU PMD504 red dot sight offers a surprisingly solid performance at a price point that's hard to beat. Its compact design and versatile mounting options make it a popular choice for both pistol and rifle applications. Key Features: * Multiple Reticle Options: The PMD504 offers a 2 MOA dot, a 62 MOA circle, and a combination of both, allowing you to choose the reticle that best suits your shooting style and preferences. * Shake-Awake Technology: This feature automatically activates the sight when it detects movement, saving battery life while ensuring you're always ready to engage your target. * Adjustable Brightness: With multiple daytime and nighttime brightness settings, you can easily adjust the reticle's visibility to match varying lighting conditions. * Durable Construction: The PMD504 is built to withstand the rigors of everyday use, making it a reliable companion for both recreational and tactical shooters. Overall, the VOTATU PMD504 is an excellent value for the money. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of more expensive options, it delivers on the essentials and offers a solid performance that's hard to fault. If you're looking for a reliable red dot sight on a budget, the PMD504 is definitely worth considering. After receiving this, installation took all of 5 minutes and my sample required VERY little adjustment to get solid groups at 7-10 yards. 600 rnds later and it's one of the best pistol red dots I have purchased, period. I would like to see Votatu make a version of this with a solar backup and a companion version for the RMSc foot print but I am beyond satisfied with the current iteration.

I figured I would try it because the reviews are positive and the price is pretty good. I am pleasantly surprised ! I have the light laser combo on my a.r and its awesome great features and performance. So the only small thing it wouldn't hold zero and I found the m lok had play in it. I had to replace the t nuts and screws with Magpul hardware, after that it's solid as a rock. I also have the pmd504 and its awesome. I lost the dust cover so I reached out to votatu they sent me a new one no questions asked. They even sent me a free gift a free gift! As far as made in China goes.... quality and service far exceeds the price. Highly recommended.

The VOTATU PMD504 Red Dot Sight Exceeded my expectations for a micro red dot at its price range. Straight out of the box, the micro red dot boasts an RMR footprint and comes with a picatinny rail adapter for your various mounting needs. An optic cover is also provided. Additionally, the optic has 3 different reticle modes, a 2 MOA dot, a 62 MOA circle, and a 62 MOA circle with a 2 MOA dot. The optic has 10 levels of brightness for a full range of use either day or night, indoor or outdoor. I mounted the optic to a 13.5in AR-15 with a riser and zeroed at 25 meters with the combination reticle setting. I was getting Nickel size 3-round groupings with a sitting-supported stance. The reticle was very clear and I had no issue focusing on the dot even with an astigmatism with my dominant shooting eye. After several hundred rounds, and being bumped around while on the rifle, the optic still held its zero. The battery compartment is a sliding tray that holds the CR1632 battery. After vigorously shaking the optic, the battery tray held firm and was at no risk of accidently losing the battery. The glass does have a slight blueish tint but its not really noticeable unless you are looking for it. The only issue I had with the optic was that the brightness could use a couple more levels in between its lower settings, however, this is by no means a deal breaker as the optic is still fully functional at all light levels, and is more me trying to find something to nitpick. The VOTATU PMD504 holds up extremely well as an entry level micro red dot and even surpasses some other optics of a similar caliber, mainly due to its excellent performance and range of features all while maintaining a very reasonable price.

This is my first purchase of a red dot optic. Was wanting to try one on my CVA Scout rifle. This little sight is packed with features for a surprisingly affordable price. One small feature I appreciate is the protective cover. Also purchased the Asurion 2 year protection plan: great peace of mind for a minimal cost.

I cannot fully express how pleased I am with this red dot sight. I have slight astigmatism so Ive struggled with red dot sights that blur the dot to my vision. What I typically see is a "burst" of the dot to the right side. Ive tried some rather expensive sights hoping for a better result and been almost universally disappointed. After reading the reviews for this one, I decided to give it a try considering the reasonable price. I have to say that I was shocked at how clear and undistorted the reticle is to my eyes- even without my astigmatism correcting glasses. This sight also offers 3 different reticles and for me, the circle-dot works perfectly. Maybe the best recommendation I can give is the fact that I bought a second one! For the price (or any price), I dont think it can be beat!

I had hiven this product 5 stars for the following reason. I'm a retired law enforcement officer who works now as private security. I purchased this red dot to be installed in my duty firearm. I installed the red dot and tested the entire system ( firearm, ammunition, sights, magazines, and red dot). After my initial test (300 rounds), I inspected the firearm and placed it in a case which includes enough space for a large red dot. I didn't notice then any issues with the On/Off rubber pad. I noticed yesterday June 25th that the pad was out of the frame. I was not able to get the pad back in place. It seems it had expanded and not fitting the frame. The only thing I can think of is that firearms get hot causing the pad to expand. I contacted Amazon knowing that my 30 days return window had expired. The Amazon associate helped me contact Votatu Outdoors. In less than 24 hours they replaced the unit for a new one. This is amazing customer service. I received the message June 26th 2025. Once I received the new unt, I installed it with ease on a Ruger RXM with the screws that came with the red dot. I didn't have any issues especially with the notoriously difficult right screw on the right side of the mount of the RXM. The unit performed great during testing. It didn't moved, lose zero, neither it flickered during the fire cycle. The shake awake, britnes, reticles and the rest of the features performed as intended. My problem now is that just over a year and the rubber control pad is out of the frame again in the same way it looks in the pictures. I figure that during use I have grabbed the control pad displacing it. For that reason I'm not only blaming the manufacturer. I'm including me in the mix since I use the firearm in realistic rough duty practice. I really wanted this unit to do well. I had so much hope I purchased a second one in green for another pistol. Unfortunately this control pad is too fragile for realistic duty use. Therefore. I cannot recommend this unit for duty or security use. I hope Votatu takes notice of this and fixes the problem. As for the unit, I replaced it with another brand.

This was very easy to sign in, and it showed more my target instead of the fiber optic. I would buy it again.

Its a decent optic for the price. Only downfall for me is the optic did not stay zeroed on my M1014 shotgun. After 20 rounds of buckshot the reticle shifted to the right. Im sure its great for handguns or rifles. But shotguns. No 👎

I purchased this sight after trying a cheaper $90 model from another brand which had a large flare coming off the dot. The dot on this sight is much better, very crisp with no bleed or flare into the surrounding window. Bright enough even for sunny days. The circle and ring makes finding the dot very easy. Material quality is excellent and is optically very good as well, with a clear picture and no parallax to speak of at 10-25m. It is extremely accurate, the adjustments track properly and it holds zero through day to day handling. I can't really speak to heavy recoil handling as it is mounted on a PCP pistol. Overall I'm very pleased with this sight.

Tried many different rmrs and this one works the best, great option of reticle, very light, has held zero for 7.62x39 rounds after 150 rounds

This review evaluates the “PMD504 Multiple Reticle Shake Awake Reflex Sight” made by VOTATU. I tested this product on a Remington 7400 semi-auto rifle. What’s in the box: It comes as one (1) Reflex sight with an integrated Picatinny rail mount, two (2) Allen-style keys, one (1) microfiber lens cloth, one (1) spare lithium CR1632 battery, three (3) different sets of 3 mounting screws, one (1) rubber dust cap, and an instruction manual. First impressions: Compact. Rugged. I’ve tried several gun sight products from this manufacturer, and this one did not disappoint. The frame is made from rugged aircraft-grade aluminum with good fit and finish. The unit comes in a small, low-profile format with an integrated mount that attaches securely to a standard Picatinny rail or Weaver-style mount. The unit has your typical windage and elevation screw settings (I MOA/Click @ 100 yards) with a total adjustment range of 90 MOA. The unit has fully coated optics that reduce glare and increase light transmission very well. There are 10 Illumination settings that are very visible in bright or dim light. You have three reticle types to choose from (circle and dot, dot only, and circle only). The brightness and reticle type is selected by two rubberized push buttons located on the left-hand side of the unit. I found the buttons somewhat awkward to use, requiring me to use my fingernail rather than the pad of my finger; using gloves to operate these buttons is a no-go. The location of the buttons makes them not ambidextrous however once set up, the unit’s “Shake-Awake” feature does not require you to use the buttons to turn it on again. The unit goes into sleep mode after 225 seconds (just under 4 minutes) saving your battery. The unit is powered by one (1) lithium CR1632 battery that is conveniently located in a slide-out battery box on the side of the unit so you don’t have to remove it (and re-zero) in order to replace the battery. The unit is totally sealed and rated IPX7 which means that it is waterproof when submerged in water at a depth of one meter for 30 minutes. It is also shock rated for a force of 1,000G. I did verify either of these claims but the unit looks like it will survive use outdoors in your typical shooting situations. I mounted the on the Picatinny rail of my Remington 7400 semiautomatic rifle and it was locked down securely. After sitting in the rifle with a laser bore sighter at 25 yards, I found that the zero was maintained after a dozen shots. The field of view was excellent and the target was easy to acquire within the sights. I look forward to trying this sight this fall during the deer hunt, especially at a moving target. Overall, I am impressed with the product; the unit is well-made, easy to zero, and use. The laser is powerful and crisp. I will have to test the zero and shock resistance over a couple of hundred rounds at the range later this summer. Should any problems arise, I will amend this review accordingly. Cost-effectiveness and value: At a current price of $179.99, I feel that this unit is of great value and is very competitive with others on the market if it holds up to rigorous use In summary: The “PMD504 Multiple Reticle Shake Awake Reflex Sight” made by VOTATU is well-made, easy to adjust, and use the unit. It delivers great functionality at a reasonable price. I would recommend this product. Pros 👍: ✔ Well-made, good fit and finish. ✔ Rugged aircraft-grade aluminum frame construction. ✔ Low profile, compact format. ✔ Mounts easily and securely on a standard weaver or Picatinny rail. ✔ Fully coated optics that reduce glare and enhance light transmission. ✔ 10 Illumination settings that are very visible in bright or dim light. ✔ 3 reticle types to choose from (circle and dot, dot only, and circle only). ✔ Wide field of view. ✔ “Shake-Awake” Battery saving feature. ✔ IPX7 environment rated – waterproof rated up to 1m for 30 minutes. ✔ Priced fairly and great value. Cons👎: ✘ Not ambidextrous (only suitable for right-hand shooters). ✘ Rubberized buttons are somewhat awkward to use.

So far I’m very happy with this red dot. I needed a bolt on style and this one fit perfectly. The included screws came in handy to bolt to my adapter plate as well. I didn’t have any trouble sighting it in either. Great value for the price.

Works great on my .22. was sceptical, but it holds zero, battery lasts forever, and it's fairly durable. I just wouldn't hit it too hard.
