Great DAB, clear sound and compact.
Compact unit with easy to use features. Sound is good, perfect for any room or to use as in my case for work (decorating) as its size makes it easy to carry with all my other kit. Very reasonable price,

Good quality with great sound
This quality radio alarm clock has two forward facing speakers, one either side of the display and a base port at the rear producing smooth, clear, true stereo sound, better than I expected from a clock radio! The operating manual could be clearer and many of the buttons are dual function, which I found confusing. Although remembering which button does what and how many times to press each certainly tests my memory, learning to operate it fully is well worth the effort as it has a depth of useful features. For example, the display, which dims right down, can be set to turn off completely after an adjustable time-out period from 10 seconds upwards. Pressing any button will then light up the display for the selected period, which is great if you don’t want to be reminded of the time during the night! Just a few points worth mentioning: The sudden step up in volume from increment 6 to 7 on the scale is disproportionate, a level in between would be just right for me. Also, I can’t read the small display when laid in bed without my glasses, no problem though if you have good eyesight. Just to mention, there is a removable film protecting the screen, which peels off. Additionally, a wire aerial would work as well as the telescopic type and in my view is much better, as it would hang discretely down the back of a bedside cabinet. In fact, I fitted such an aerial quite easily by attaching 50 cm of thin wire with a couple of small cable ties, holding the bare copper braid in contact with the telescopic aerial. Doing this is perfectly safe, it works well and is a much neater option as the telescopic aerial remains distended and clipped in its horizontal position (see photo). A suggestion for improvement would be the positioning of a large destinctive button placed on the top surface, which has the dual functions of Snooze and Sleep. With each press of such a user friendly button, the Sleep time periods would increase in15 minute increments before the radio switches off. With the current design it takes 13 pushes across 3 different buttons in order to set the radio to play for an hour before switching off, which is quite a challenge especially when I'm drowsy! These points aside this is a nice radio alarm clock with a solid feel, I am pleased and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great little Radio.
I bought this for my wife for Christmas. Her mum left her a Roberts Digital Radio but after 9 years it wouldn't always turn on. The sound is good as are the 20 pre programmed stations. Looks good and easy to use and to move around with the solid handle.

Faulty after 18 months although agreed to repair.
Worked well to begin with however after 18 months the display no longer functions correctly and it remains very dimly lit. Manufacturer provided literature to extend warranty when purchased however website does not permit you to do so. Contacted manufacturer and after a few emails they agreed to repair/replace clock.

I'm glad I took a risk on buying this.
I'm normally a "buy the big brand" type of person, and needless to say, I've had Pure and Roberts DAB clock and regular radios. Nothing fit the bill this time as I had specific requirements that were met with this unit, see below: 1. It needed to go dark on the display, the fact that it has 5 different brightness levels one might think that it's too many, but no. it just helps to find the right one, after all, once you've got what you want, you're unlikely to change it aren't you? They may seem bright, but I use a flagship Samsung phone to take pictures and it makes the dark look like daylight. If you look at the last one on my partner's nightstand, you'll see it approximately twice as bright in the photo than it normally is. In fact on lowest setting it's hardly visible at all in daylight. I needed plenty of brightness levels as my partner sleeps with the curtains, with blackout material, shut all the time, so brightness, or darkness, was an issue. 2. It needed to be shut off immediately and easily when the alarm goes off-not a snooze situation, just OFF. This is achieved by pressing the middle button on the front on the top of the unit. It can be "snoozed" if you want, but our requirement was to be able to turn off the alarm without it coming on again and risking waking my partner up again. This may seem like an easy thing to do, but after extensive research I've found that there is no documentation referring to this, they all say they can be snoozed but this one I know for a fact can have the alarm stopped with just one press. Now that in itself is made easier by the fact that the "off" button is conveniently located in the middle of the three buttons on the top of the unit, at the front. This means that it can be found in the dark without having to turn the light on. I've seen plenty others where the "off" button is located amongst others at the back. Besides, they don't document that the action of switching off the alarm definitevely with one button press-I can assert that this is the case here. 3. DAB reception, excellent. Some of the clock radios have such patchy reception on DAB that I've had to resort to using FM Allied to this, is the sound quality, my partner likes listening to the radio whilst doing cleaning etc upstairs, and this is very good in that respect, achieving a decent volume without distortion. 4. There are two alarms, so one can be set for weekends, one for weekdays and are easy to switch between the two so I'm not having to reprogramme a single one depending on day in the week. 5. The ability to charge something like a phone from the clock radio itself-great idea for those that keep their mobile on the nightstand like we do. 6. Lastly, a minor point, but one that I'm happy about. It's that it uses a standardised round pin power supply that should the original one fail, are easy to replace here on Amazon for example. Some of the clock radios have the power cable wired directly into the unit itself, so once the power supply goes wrong inside the unit, it's bin time. All in all, I'm surprised as to how good it is. UPDATE: A lot of reviews are really just prolonged "unboxings", but I like to give a long term appraisal, to that end: Over a year later and still going strong. Deffo worth the money.

Vorsicht!
