Slick coating
The line seems to be coated with a slick substance that causes a properly tied bowline knot to slip.

Really hard to splice
I've been replacing all the running rigging on my sailboat and thought I'd try this offering from Amazon. This rope is different from others I've bought (not on Amazon) in that the cover is very tightly stretched over the core. As mentioned in other reviews, which I didn't read before ordering, splicing is VERY difficult. Even the easiest part of the splicing process, extracting the core, is next to impossible (for me anyway). It also has a much stiffer feel in the way it coils. I'm sure it's a fine rope otherwise.
