Great scale, but app needs some work!
EDIT OCT 2025: I'm still using this scale and am still happy with it. I think I've replaced the battery once. I weigh almost every morning: open the app, step on the scale, make sure app syncs to Apple Health and then on with the day. I still recommend this scale, although I haven't researched any other smart scales in two years. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am very happy with this scale! I pretty quickly got it set up and connected to WiFi and it is working well. I tap it with my foot to wake it up and then step on it, and it measures in about 2 seconds. So as far as just needing basic weight, I am very happy with that function of it, since that's what I bought it for. Once I get off the scale, the results appear within the app within just a few seconds. So that being said, I would definitely recommend the scale just for weight, but it's a bit pricey if that's all you're buying it for. I paid the asking price (around $70 I think) because I wanted something with an app that would remember all my weigh-ins and let me track things there. But folks I will tell you, at least for me, that app is a bit of a mess. First, it's just not arranged and organized in an intuitive manner. I'm an IT guy by trade and have been in the biz a loooong time and consider myself to be very savvy around tech and can usually figure it out pretty quickly. But this one just took me way too long and I think less tech savvy folks will be as frustrated or more than I was. For example- when you weigh, it shows you your weight in a "dashboard" area, but then my daughter came in to my office and stepped on the scale. Well her weight now messed up my average numbers, so I wanted to remove her weigh-in. It took me a long time of stumbling around different parts of the app and I finally gave up. Well the app was updated a few weeks later and behold, now I can swipe sideways and remove that weigh-in. But overall it's just not intuitive. As well, the color choice makes for terrible contrast. It is a bright white background with light, lime-green text, and is very difficult for me to make things out. It was such a pain that I finally activated the "secret dark mode": on your iPhone, go to Settings, Accessibility, scroll to the bottom and tap Per App Settings. Now tap on Add App, then add EufyLife. Now tap into that and scroll to "Smart Invert" and turn it on. Now, you will have a black background with white text. It is so much easier for me to read. TH SAVING GRACE for this for me is, that the app integrates with Apple Health. So when I weigh in, a very short while the weight is in my Health app on my iPhone. So I don't have to use the Eufy app much if I don't want to. Also note, on the bottom of the scale is an indent that changes the measurement units on the scale from lb. to kg. It is extremely easy to tap and accidentally change. The body fat measurement seems to be fairly accurate so no complaints from me there, but that wasn't one of the "main" features I was looking for, it was just an added bonus. Bottom line, I am very happy with the scale itself and will be using it for (hopefully) a long while. But I hope the app gets an overhaul and becomes easier to figure out and use.

Nice Scale!
My first Eufy P3 worked great! Until it didn't. For some reason one day to the next it said i lost 30 pounds of muscle and gained 10 pounds of fat. I don't think that is humanly possible. After a week of bad results i contact Eufy by chat. The first person i reached said some weight fluctuations are normal, yes true but not by 30 pounds!! That person wanted photos so i mentioned if i get out of this chat i will lose you. They said to just request them when i get reconnected to chat. Im thinking here we go!! Im going to get the good old run around! I got back on the chat and reached someone else. I told them what the previous person said. They told me to hold on a moment while they reconnected me to that other person. Luckily that first person was not available because the new person i was chatting with was amazing! He noticed right away that the scale was bad and said he was going to ship me out a new one and i would have to return the old one so they can run some tests on it. Great! Thank you so much!!!! I was busy at work and didn't have time to return the scale right away so i was a little disappoint not to have my smart scale to weigh myself everyday. I know it sounds crazy to weigh myself everyday but i workout hard everyday and like to see what kind of results my hard working is getting me. 3 days later theres a package at my door and it was my new Eufy scale!!! I ripped it open like a kid at Xmas! I set it up and stepped on it and back in business!! Results were accurate again!! I did ship the back the bad scale but it took me maybe two weeks to find the time to get to the US post office. Sorry for the delay Eufy but thanks again! Now the issue i have with these smart scales. Im 48 years old and in better shape then most guys half my age but this scale says I have the body of an Obese 51 year old LoL, I recently bought a 56 metric scale (different brand) that says that I have a body of an Obese 56 year old. That scale I'm in the process of returning because it works when it wants too! Problem with these scales are BMI. If you are a larger person with a lot of muscle it doesn't care, body fat or muscle it only knows weight vs height. Example Im 5’ 11” 285 pounds on the more muscular side. I work out just about everyday. According to this scale and all other smart scales I am Obese. So if the smart scale is making all its calculations off of BMI then you will not be getting an accurate reading and the scale might actually discourage someone from working out instead assist. My wife hates these scales because of it. I tell her not to take the measurements to heart and use it as a tool to help track any improvements. I will keep shopping around for another 56 metric scale. Eufy if you are in the process of developing a 56 metric scale Im in the market for one!!! I was going to give the Eufy P3 scale 4 stars but their great customer service earned them an additional star!

Love that it is water-tolerant, reliable and dependable!
I was looking for a scale that would have a long life - even in a humid bathroom, and would sync with Garmin. This one fits the bill and more. I'm very happy with it. Below is my experience with it so far. But first, there is some misinformation in some of the other reviews, at least based on the current version of the app, so I'll take a moment to share current state. You can set whether you want the scale to show your weight in pounds, in kilograms, or in stones in the app. It remembers the setting. You can also use a button on the bottom of the scale to switch between unit types (when the app connects, its setting will override the button). You can turn off the electrical signals (used to measure bioimpedence for body fat and other body composition calculations the scale makes). You will want to do this if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker or other ICD. In the app, set the scale to Simple mode. It will then record your weight and will forego the other measurements. You can share it with others in the household, and it will automatically distinguish between users whose weight differs by around 6 pounds or more. If you are all similar weights, it won't distinguish and you have to help by manually switching the user in the app. Ok, on with the pros and cons. PROS It is precise. Multiple weigh-ins all in a row are the same, or in the case of body fat percentage, are very, very close. I keep my scale in the bathroom, so I love that this scale has an IPX5 rating and I don't have to worry if it happens to get sprayed with some water. My husband and I both use it and it automatically detects us and gives us each our own data on our phone. (Our weights are significantly different, and it does not confuse us.) It supports syncing with the Eufy app over wifi if your have it available where the scale is. This is a much more reliable communication method than Bluetooth (less spotty, less hiccups and associated delay), and it doesn't require you to have your phone near the scale in order to sync. It also supports syncing with the Eufy app using Bluetooth if or when you don't have wifi available. Any smart phone or tablet can connect this way. With somewhat convoluted app-to-app-to-app communication, I can in fact have my weight go automatically to Garmin Connect (eufy -> Fitbit -> MyFitnessPal -> Garmin Connect). I hope this doesn't break before eufy gives us something more direct. You can track body measurements in the app, and they provide a measuring tape with the scale. If you're serious about losing fat and keeping muscle, or about increasing muscle, this is much more important to track than overall weight. I love that they have this in the app! Weigh-ins are relatively quick. Turning it on is easy - just a quick partial step onto it and off again and then it's ready. The app is actively being changed and worked on. CONS Measuring bioimpedence is not a very accurate way to measure body fat percentage and body composition. This is true of any scale you stand on for the measurement, not just this one. The default setting in the app for it to remind you to weigh daily is awful and ill-advised. I quickly unchecked each day to just turn this off. A default of weekly is much more in-line. There is a lot of information in the app that seemed "hidden" to me. It's definitely worthwhile going to the FAQs on the Eufy site and skimming through the ones on app features. Note: The pro version adds a heart rate measurement and the ability to get the bioimpedence measure without making sure your feet are on the metal sensors. Neither of these was of interest to me, so I went with the less expensive version.

Quit Working After Six Months
Note: I reached out (through Amazon) to the manufacturer and have not yet received a response. I will update when I do. UPDATE: EUFY replied promptly and offered to replace my scale for free. Unfortunately this happened right at the time of the lockdowns for the coronavirus, and the shipment came out through the US Postal Service. This created more than a month of frustration due to the awful local postal carrier we have. Before I could get to the main post office (not anywhere near where I live), the replacement scale had been sent back. But EUFY was great to resend the replacement. I finally was able to get it (despite more frustration with my postal carrier). I upgraded my rating to four stars. I understand the limitations of the scale and don't expect scientific body fat or hydration numbers. It's a digital scale. It's not a scientific lab. And for the price, it's just fine. It's accurate, consistent and easy to use. The app integrates easily with my Health app on my iPhone which is important to me. I would have given 5 stars if EUFY had the ability to ship other than through the US Postal Service. I understand that Amazon determines that based on inventory on hand. But I avoid my local US Postal carrier every possible way I can. I was quite happy with the scale. I knew it would not give precise measurements of body fat, hydration, and so on, it's scale. But the weight measurements were as accurate as I knew based on visits to the doctor and weighing on other analog scales. And I used the other data for long-term trending, more than for a sense of what my actual body fat was. I never had any issues syncing with the app, and the app fed data to my Apple Health app without any issues. Then, suddenly, six months in, I get the error message "oL" which apparently means "overload" or something like that. After some shock, I read through the somewhat useless manual, and realized, no I didn't just gain a hundred pounds and the scale could not register my weight. When I consulted the manual it simply said, "stop using for weight measurement." Okay. But how do I fix it? There's no reset button (I tried used the "units" button for that. No dice.). There's no "step once on the right front measuring pad, twice on the left back pad, and once on the right back pad" or some sort of digital hokey-pokey of that sort. My scale had become a brick. I wasted even more time going online and searching YouTube for any information I could find on how to fix the scale. Nothing. The scale is useless. While I was satisfied with the scale for the first six months, it's hard to be anything other than extremely irritated with what has turned out to be a six-month lease on the device. I'll give eufy time to respond and will update here. But this is stupid and frustrating. I'm an Apple guy and I have never once had an Apple device quit on me. I have in iPad Air (first gen) that is still humming along (though now stuck on iOS 12 for the rest of its digital life) after five years (and I bought it used). I expect to be able to use a scale like this many years past the end of warranty.

Great Smart Scale with a Small Profile-Switching Quirk
One of my favorite scales I’ve owned so far. The setup was easy, and the app gives you way more insight than just weight which is exactly what I was looking for. It tracks a ton of metrics and makes it simple to monitor progress over time. My only complaint, and it’s not a dealbreaker, is switching between user profiles. I like the tap feature, but it only works after your weight is already locked in. If you don’t tap your foot quick enough, your stats can get logged under the wrong person. It’s a small inconvenience but something to be aware of if multiple people are using it. Overall, I’d still 100% recommend it for anyone serious about tracking their health and vitals.

Very Disappointed
When I first bought this scale, I was honestly disappointed. I purchased it thinking my older scale was broken, since that one would fluctuate between 1–3 pounds from one day to the next. I assumed a new scale would give me more consistent results — but I started seeing the same kind of fluctuations and thought this new scale wasn’t functioning properly either. After doing some research, I learned that daily weight fluctuations of 1–3 pounds are completely normal. It turns out your body naturally holds or sheds weight based on things like hydration, sodium, food intake, and time of day. You can weigh up to 3 pounds more at night than you do the next morning — and that’s not the scale’s fault, it’s just how the body works. I also learned that it’s actually best to weigh yourself daily, but look at your weekly average, rather than reacting to every single day’s number. Once I understood that, I started appreciating what this new scale actually offers. To test it, I began comparing it to my old scale, and while there was a small variance, this new scale gave more consistent and reliable readings over time. What really impressed me is the detailed information it provides beyond just weight. It tracks things like body fat percentage, muscle mass, BMI, water weight, and more. I can see daily, weekly, and monthly summaries, which helps me track progress toward both my weight loss and muscle gain goals. The companion app is super easy to use, and I love that it allows multiple profiles for different family members, so we can all track our progress individually. Overall, I’m glad I stuck with this scale. It’s become a great tool for keeping me informed and motivated — I just needed to understand how to use it properly. This scale pack a lot into an affordable price.

Updated Review 7-19-20
Paid for a new scale, and was shipped an obviously used device. *****Update 7/19/2020**** Originally I gave the unit 1 star because the unit that I received was obviously used and no attempt was made to clean the device (I'm actually happy it wasn't with all that is going on) before it was shipped to me. I left the above review which was pretty short and straight to the point as I refused to even try to use the device. Eufy quickly contacted me and advised that since the scale ships from an Amazon warehouse they unfortunately had no control over the inventory, and checking the quality of returns. While understandable I advised this was not something the customer should have to deal with, and at the end of the day it's a product sold by them so they should be responsible. They agreed, and said they would ship another unit out to me and offered a slight discount which I was fine with accepting. On to the product. The scale works exactly as advertised. I came from a Fitbit Aria (version 1 I believe) which after the last update had issues connecting to my wifi, and generally was not powering on like it should. The WiFi issue swayed me towards a less connected unit which is what made me try the Eufy which still connects via Bluetooth if you want. I can say I've had no issues with the scale turning on, and overall it seems pretty accurate. I've seen a review or 2 that says it's not as accurate as some other scales, and to this I honestly can't give an opinion. What I can say though is that it is very consistent. I've weighed myself multiple times in a row to see if it changes up slightly and every time it has been the same. So you can at least know that it will calculate your weight the same way every time, and if it is off by half a pound or so compared to others it will be that same half pound off at no matter what your weight. If you need something that's completely accurate because you are in a competition and have to weigh a certain amount you should probably be looking at a more expensive scale from the jump. If you do decide to connect the scale to the Eufy app on your phone it gives you the many features above, and they all seem to be pretty consistent as well. As far as how helpful they are I couldn't say since the main thing I cared about what having my weight tracked. It does store several weigh-ins if you don't have your phone with you and the app open at the time you weigh yourself, so you can be confident that all of that will sync the next time you have the app open. As far as multiple users I haven't tried it yet as my wife doesn't really care to track her weight in an app, but I do think the only complaint I have is how Eufy handles that. You basically have to share the app with family members and I believe it will sync when they weigh themselves and sync with their phone. As I've stated I haven't actually tried it so take that anecdotally . I can say that it doesn't include her weight in my syncs, so I do have confidence that it works as stated. Overall I am very happy with the unit, and probably even more so with Eufy's customer service. I am pretty confident that if I have any issues and reach out to them they will be happy to help in a timely manner. I can and will confidently recommend the product to my family, friends, and anyone reading this review. One pro-tip if you're using an Android device is to allow the location settings for the Eufy app all of the time. From my research Eufy doesn't actually collect any of this data, but it is a limitation of Android's bluetooth capability and if you don't you may have issues syncing your scale after the initial setup. I believe the first time I set it up I chose the "only while app is open" option, and it initially worked but I had trouble getting it to connect consistently after that. Being in IT I did a little digging, and decided to reinstall the app and set that option to all the time and I haven't had an issue since then. I'm not deducting any points\stars from Eufy for this as I'm pretty sure it's a common issue for us Android users and the Bluetooth stack used in some of our devices.
