Heartwarming Gift
This compass is a beautiful gift for my son. The messages on the inside lid of the wooden box, the back of the compass and on the included card are heartwarming. While the price is low, the value is higher than the price paid. The needle seems to be suspended in air rather than water so, functionally, the needle takes a little while to settle. The quality is high enough to be a display piece but I wouldn't recommend bringing it into the woods!

Mine is cheap looking.
There are defects all over this. A burn mark on the etched plate next to the heart. It looks like a black blog. Same plate came crooked fixed but then fell off. Disappointing. But I guess you get what you paid for for 30 bucks.
