Ich nutze den Arduino UNO R4 WiFi seit einigen Wochen für diverse Smart-Home- und IoT-Projekte und bin absolut begeistert vom Leistungssprung im Vergleich zum klassischen R3. Das Board kombiniert den gewohnten Formfaktor perfekt mit moderner 32-Bit-ARM-Leistung und nahtloser Funkkonnektivität. Besonders positiv fällt die hohe Rechenpower des ARM Cortex-M4 auf, die selbst anspruchsvolle Aufgaben mühelos bewältigt. Die Einbindung von WLAN und Bluetooth über das ESP32-Modul funktioniert in der Arduino IDE dank guter Bibliotheken gewohnt einfach; erste Datenströme in die Cloud standen bei mir nach wenigen Minuten. Ein echtes Highlight ist die integrierte 12x8-LED-Matrix, die sich ideal für schnelle Statusanzeigen ohne zusätzliche Verkabelung eignet. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt betrifft die Kompatibilität: Manche sehr alten Drittanbieter-Bibliotheken des R3 laufen aufgrund der neuen Architektur noch nicht auf Anhieb und erfordern manuelle Anpassung im Code.
