Are where the measuring lines are the actual measuring place or the top of the cups?

The measurement lines on this item are the actual measurement lines, not the tops of the cups.

Are they made in China?

I bought them as a gift for someone, so I can't check them but I don't believe they were made in China--

Are these dishwasher safe?

Yes, these are dishwasher and microwave safe

do these work for hot liquids? such as coffee?

I think so. I haven’t used them for hot coffee, but I have used them to scoop boiling hot water out of pasta to reserve for making pasta sauce and had no issues.

Adorable! *but not accurate*

These are so cute. They came today in one piece and are absolutely adorable. But they are not accurate for measuring. I took my traditional glass pyrex measuring cup and filled it to 1/4 cup with water, then poured it into the co-op 1/4 cup, then played with the 1/2 + 1 cup. Nothing was accurate. It's okay! I'm keeping them for their cuteness + will use for everything but an actual measurement
