Had a seized 17mm oil drain bolt on my car that my former mechanic way overtightened and stripped the head as well. See photos, this set worked exactly as advertised. The sharp flutes gripped the ruined bolt head, and easily unscrewed it perfectly without messing up the pan's threads, so I could drain the oil and replace the bolt and washer. Highly recommended purchase, great strength, nice storage case with good labeling, and the 1/4" adapter included, all at an excellent price. Once I got the ruined bolt removed, I even used the included adapter in reverse through the extractor to tap gently with a hammer, to separate it from the extracted bolt. I'd happily give this set 10 stars if I could.

This is a great bolt extractor set! It helped me remove a completely stripped oil drain bolt that had a rounded-off head. Just make sure to hammer the extractor on firmly so it bites properly. I used the exterior hex drive with an adjustable wrench, and it backed the bolt out with no issues. Super solid tool, definitely worth having in the toolbox!

Arrived quickly and works exactly as expected. Solidly constructed and well packaged in a nice little case with all the standard sizes to choose from. Easily hammered onto a completely rounded bolt, it gripped well and stood up to some hard impacts to break the bolt free. It took a couple hits with my punch tool to get it off the bolt after removal.

Worked great on what I needed it for (multiple rounded off intake manifold bolts), and has worked nicely a few more times after that as well. So far, I have not needed anything else that's not in this kit.

The unit is solid but the metal is soft and wears down quickly.

These are great quality. I thought I was screwed. I already drilled out the center and broke off an easy out but this thing gripped and the bolt came right out

Very solid set - I had various Craftsman tools, but when I recently had a very solid Pan Head to remove it was impossible with those sets (designed to be used with a drill) due to using Locktite blue - but this set had EXACTLY what I needed. Threw away the rest as I will never need them again - this is a serious set. Worth the money - saved me over half what the set cost on the first use.

After trying all the normal tricks, this did the trick. Miracle worker!

Nice set of extractors at a reasonable price

These took me out of a real bind. They work well, the value for money is great, they come with a nice little case. Very happy with them.

I bought this extractor set and received a non-branded black & yellow case which appeared similar and appeared in other online searches. Needless to say I was initially disappointed but thought I would give it a try anyway. The set I received worked a charm and after a few seconds with an impact wrench, the rounded bolt that had been on my to-do list for years was successfully extracted & replaced. Very happy with what was sent even though it wasn't what I ordered.
