- DXZtoz Dual Lens Articulating Borescope for Engine & HVAC Inspection

Great scope in every way. I bought a 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara in over all good shape to use as little 4x4 for dual sport use. It has very reasonable miles on it. I discovered it was going thru a quart of oil every 200 miles with almost zero leaks. I thought I had been really screwed but hoped it was valve seals. I wanted to check the cylinder walls for excessive wear and scoring before doing anything. I looked at a lot of these scopes and settled on this one for a number of reasons. I liked the side camera. I found that this unit is so good it is not needed. These all have internal batteries which die over a period of years. This unit can be run off a USB-C phone charger or an emergency battery for recharging a phone. That means that as long as the electronics work, it is good to go. It comes in a very professional carrying case and special hooks and stuff to attach to the end of the camera. Excellent light brightness. Excellent video quality. Focal length is from around 3/4 inch to 100 ft or more. Over all picture quality is bright and crisp with great resolution. I could count the factory cross hatch marks on the cylinder walls. Flex Tip. Just over 180 degrees. I was able to look back at the bottoms of the valves. The flex function works very smoothly. The info I gained was worth the money I spent. I could see that I have no burnt valves, piston tops looked good with a thin layer of carbon from the oil and the cylinder walls are in new condition. I decided to try some AT-205 to see if it would soften the valve seals before having them replaced. If that worked, I know the rings are likely good. It did nothing for the first 300 miles. Suddenly after letting it set for a few days, and then starting to use it again, the oil on the dip stick seems to have almost completely stopped dropping. I calculate I am now up to at least 400 miles per quart if not a lot more. There is no more smoke at cold start up or after idling for 5 minutes and taking off in a hurry.

I have two other borescopes. I've had both a while. One is a DeWalt and the other a Chinese cheapo. Both had limited focus range of about 6" to 2". This DXZtoz unit has incredible clarity both far and close. Then there's the articulation. A game changer for finding and getting a good view. One quick tip: I purchased two units; both the dual lens version and the standard. The dual lens is so much better. It has a larger screen. You can split the screen and look at both views side by side. With one button touch you can select full size of either view. I ended up sending back the standard version and exchanging it for a second dual view. Because of the specials being offered there was not a large cost differential. Either unit works well but having the larger screen is worth the extra cost.

Saved me from potentially more $ spend on an engine. I did not notice something dropped into the cylinder, and went to start it up. Heard pinging and immediately turned it off. Bought this as it was high reviewed and boom. Got the metal clip like thing that was in there out. it comes with a magnet adapter and made it super easy to get it out through the spark plug hole. Glad it wasn't too bad and now motor is fine. Would of been a bit harder to get out if I could not see it and was not sure it was the right cylinder to look into. Expensive but worth it to spend even more money on it. Would highly recommend. Image quality is good too. Its a bit hard to move the cable at first but then you get the hang of it.

I bought this to update my old non steerable bluetooth linked 35$ scope. I like the two camera option, I like the steering, length of probe, size of probe and it appears to be decent quality, although I can see the probe getting beat up on the spark plug threads in time. I did return it. I returned it because my use is inspecting cylinder bores in aircraft engines, mainly valves and seats, cylinder walls, accessory case for gear wear, etc. The picture is just not very high resolution. It is the low resolution that got me back to looking for an upgrade. It is decent. Most folks would find it adequate but the pictures saved are very small, only in the kb range. When shopping I think you will find that most of these inexpensive scopes do NOT specify the actual camera/lense resolution, they just mention HD. Most just leave the actual camera resolution out of the product description and for a reason. My phone has a 48 megapixel camera! This spoils us. Most of these scopes have a 1 megapixel camera and the difference is significant, obviously. Some of these chinese scopes have 2 megapixel, but its still pretty grainey. They call it HD, but with our 4k TVs and the screens on our phones, its just doesn't compare. The "zoom" just spreads the pixels out. If you are trying to find an issue with a valve seat and need fine detail, this is marginal at best. SO, in shopping for higher resolution I am finding that there really is nothing out there yet much better for a reasonable price. Even the 800 to 1k$ scopes have similar resolution. You can bump it up a little by using one that you mount your iphone/ipad to, and using the snap shot option on your device, not the software of the scope, you can save a higher quality image......of a picture taken with a low quality camera. The expensive scopes are more durable, have 360 steering (which is a huge bonus) and are not the mass produced quality control pot luck found here. BUT they don't significantly improve resolution...yet. At least I have not found one. My 2 cents. This item has a decent picture, easy to use, two cameras and good lighting. Its cheap too. Maybe I should have kept it while I am still looking.

Works perfectly for the length that it is and I wouldn't want it any longer as it's very difficult to navigate through plumbing despite the remote adjustable camera head. If you have a pipe with a passively large angled bend, works good, however, anything less the a 2-3" pvc pipe bend is too sharp of a bend and very difficult to impossible to navigate through. The cameras, camera lights, and the ability to adjust the angle are exactly as claimed with excellent detail. The display and recording ability also is spot on, reliable, and intuitive to use. As for the navigation through pipes, it could be that I have no experience navigating a camera through pipes, or not. I have other uses with it though where it will be very useful.

I have used this device so far for a little amount of time, so I will say this, I am impressed with this bore scope screen image quality along with the brightness provided with the bore scope camera tip! It is truly impressive! What concerns me is the chargeable battery life and the replacement of the battery when the battery life ends. However, this will be in the future. I am still impressed with the quality of this bore scope!

I recently purchased the AGC500L endoscope and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The image quality is outstanding, providing clear and sharp visuals that make inspections a breeze. The adjustable LED lights ensure optimal visibility in various environments. The semi-rigid cable is a game-changer, allowing for easy maneuverability and access to tight spaces. The length is just right for most tasks, striking a balance between flexibility and stability. One standout feature is the user-friendly interface. The controls are intuitive and responsive, making it easy to capture photos and videos. The inclusion of a 32GB SD card is a thoughtful touch, eliminating the need for immediate additional purchases. The AGC500L is a versatile tool that has proven invaluable for a range of applications. Whether it's automotive, plumbing, or household maintenance, this endoscope has consistently delivered reliable results. The included accessories, such as the mirror, magnet, and hook, add even more functionality to an already impressive device. Overall, I highly recommend the AGC500L endoscope. Its exceptional performance, coupled with its user-friendly design and included extras, make it a top choice for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike.

I needed to peer inside the cylinders of my IO-470C (for a Bonanza) to check out the valves. I tried a few other borescopes and wasn't satisfied with them. When I saw the description and a review from someone else, I figured it was close to what I needed and cheap enough to not procrastinate. I was tempering my expectations. When I got it, it looks great and comes in a nicely padded carrying case. The key features I needed were the ability to point the camera back towards the hole it went through, a larger screen, a zoom capability, high resolution and clarity, and the ability to capture screenshots. I can wholeheartedly say this is the best borescope I have ever used. It met all of my requirements and has many features that are just better. It has good battery life, is easy to download pictures, easy to zoom in and take pictures. There were some concerns about it, though. When I received it, the steerability of the end camera seemed to be bound up, and I had to manually work the sheath to unglue it from the internal steering cables. I was worried that I was going to permanently damage the camera, but after I got it unstuck, it works fine. Another concern is how long will it last. It seems like the end effector is a weakness in the design and it is not easily replaceable. I will be careful with it and hope it lasts a long time. Overall, great product, which I am happy to recommend.
