Microsoft Excel Data Analysis and Business Modeling (Business Skills)

This is a great book. It is a bit more advanced, but the techniques in this book are the same that the largest companies in the world use. This isn't a book that says, this is what a VLOOKUP does. This is a book that answers questions like, how can a company maximize profit by minimizing costs and with limited resources (labour and resources).

Very good book, full of details and knowledge.

For: Excellent book, each section is comprehensive, well explained and you will learn new tricks of the trade even from the earlier chapters. This is aimed at intermediate to advanced Excel users, I have plenty of macro experience but have learnt a lot about the applications of fundamental formulae and Excel shortcuts from this book. The format of the book is to answer a series of questions with worked solutions in each chapter. There are a number of Problems (up to 37 at the end of each section) which are very useful for testing, honing, and expanding upon skills learnt using downloadable Excel content. Against: Inconsistencies in the problems sections lets the book down slightly- some of the solution files have minor errors, there doesn't appear continuity in style throughout and some of the finance worked questions are overly complex and may require further research to complete.

A-W-E-S-O-ME It is set up in roughly 90 short topics, fairly independent from each other (a few thematic groups can be identified, though). It gives, very, very useful content and tips, and the analytically minded will think immediately of examples where he/she could put them in practice right away. Being myself a competent user of Excel with 20+ years of experience, I must say that I have learned from this book more than I thought I could. Congratulations to the author for this excellent resource.

I brought this book to support the Microsoft Data Science course. Although the content is clear, concise and easy to follow I wish I had not brought the Kindle version and actually went for a physical copy

I bought this after searching for Power Query on Amazon and reading the table of contents. There is nothing on Power Query in the whole book, its very dated.

Fantastic book! I was, by no means, an excel expert. This book is well structured to where anybody can understand. I love the example and template files to help you understand the processes. Then at the end of each chapter, there are questions that require you to create spreadsheets on your own. These last few questions do a terrific job reinforcing the chapter and making sure you truly understand the concepts and where to use them, rather than just understanding simple procedures. This book is quite extensive and I'd recommend it if you wish to be successful in business analysis and modeling. The book covers v-lookups, if statements, sorting, conditional formatting, tables, solver, pivot tables, and about 75 other chapters. Highly recommended.
