Fit perfectly and works just like the original. I accidently cracked the lense of the original and needed this as replacement. Very Happy

After a student accidentally tipped over one of our microscopes and broke a lens, I was hoping to find a a placement that fit my brand of microscope well, without feeling like a cheap knock off. This is sturdy, well packaged, and does the job well. I don’t even know which microscope has the replaced lens! I definitely recommend this product!

We recently acquired an old Olympus BH-2 scope for our lab that came with a couple dud objectives. We grabbed a couple of these AmScope objectives just so we can get it up and running in the short term. This 40x lens works just fine with it, but we had some trouble at first. The first lens sent had some distinct wavy distortion to the glass that made getting a clean image basically impossible. After a quick and easy replacement, the 2nd lens was covered in plastic dust from shipping that required a bit of fiddly cleaning to get things happy. But after all that, it functions. It threaded in to the nosepiece without issue, doesn't interfering with anything while turning, and produces a decently crisp view. Now, it is very distinctly a Cheap lens. The field flatness isn't great, you can focus roughly 2/3rds of the field at a time. It's also not Exactly parfocal with the other lenses, so it requires a bit of twiddling of the knob to clear up. But for the price it will absolutely do what we need it to do for now, and we're basically happy with the thing. And lastly a note on shipping. It was sent in a plastic tube, with the lens screwed into a retaining ring in the cap. Nice idea. Unfortunately the tube wasn't closed correctly (cross-threaded) so the lens was able to wobble around in shipping, scratching a ring into the plastic and liberating a bunch of particulate we had to clean out. The tube was also just shipped in a bubble mailer, and had been roughed up a bit, so had some cracks in the plastic. But it was still intact, so all's well that ends well I suppose.
