Pull Down Closet Rod, Stainless Steel Adjustable 26''-35'', 60 lbs Capacity

Our coat closet was THE WORST. Why is it 6 feet deep and full ceiling height? Why did they install a single wire shelf with a rod on the back wall and call it a day? I may never know but this thing solved all my problems. Instead of having the jackets that we use maybe once a year displayed prominently in the most accessible location in the closet and every other item we use on a more regular basis balanced on a single shelf like a jenga tower, I replaced the wire shelf and rod with a 5 shelf unit with this miracle clothes bar above it. Now the things we actually use are at a normal height and we can still access the items stored on this rod. Things like the NASCAR jacket my husband won’t get rid of but I refuse to let him wear in public. Very sturdy and the spring loaded action means it pulls down easy and assists when returning it to the upright position. Side to side adjustment was easy but make sure you have plenty of room in front of this contraption if you don’t have a walk in closet the size of a palace. Even in a deep closet it pulls further forward than I anticipated.

I tried with two of them first and bought two more after testing. Note: I bought the smaller ones and have them at a length of 80cm each. I had to mount them at the wall, not into a shelf, and drywood walls with, even worse, no studs to catch but tin sheets, so pure drywood. I was not sure whether they will get down automatically because mounted at the wall they are not in an up right position when moved up. BUT: no problem. Even loaded they keep up reliably. Loaded = normal mixture of trousers, shirts, etc. 50 leather jackets may be different .. However: one star less, because the u-shaped metal part, which you have to screw to the wall and where you slide in the turning block needs screws with a VERY tiny head. You can only use either the enclosed machine screws to attach it to a 90 degree angle piece which is for side board mounting and which is very easy, or the tiny wood screws, which you can, obviously forget with drywood walls. And any anchors have screws with thicker heads (I was at all stores with my sample). And as soon as the head is minimal thicker you cannot slide the mechanism in anymore because it blocks. Manufacturer: increase the distance between the end of the screw's head and the plastic part by 2mm please!!!! Solution: take a white board or stud with approx 1.5cm thickness. Make it the size of the metal u-form. Screw this to the wall first with either finding studs or anchors where you will lower the heads into it so the surface is plain. On this piece you can use the wooden screws to mount the metal on it - still: screw them in exactly(!) in the middle of each hole and absolutely horizontally(!). THEN you can slide it in easily and will have a great additional storage. Side mounting into shelves does not have this issue because you use the metal angle. Add. note: a board directly below should have a bit distance if you like to place something on it. Otherwise you will have the clothes on the new rod get stuck on articles below. So, besides the problem of wall mounting, which I now know how to bypass, it is a great add on. Would buy it again.

I'm building out our master closet and thought these would be a good addition. It was not difficult to install, but needed to read through the instruction more than once. I installed my husband's pull-down first and was disappointed with the deflection of the hanging rod. He has fewer clothes on the rod and I can already see that this will not hold up over time. I did mine next and when I went to twist the rods to get the right length, one side was completely stuck (no rotating - no matter what). I really didn't want to remove and return. I realized the inside tubes were hallow all the way through, so I purchased a 3/8" steel rod ($4.98 at THD) and cut it to size, slid it inside and connected everything. It is holding more weight and works perfectly with no sagging in the bar. I plan to add the rod to my husband's pull down.

We say these in some model homes that we visited while we were in the design phase of building our house. The builder wanted way too much money to include these in the build price. I ordered these and put them in after we moved in. Very easy to o stall and they work great. My wife loves them. She swap her clothes seasonally by putting off season clothes up high and moving in-season clothes down lower. This product makes the transfer of clothes incredibly easier without a step ladder

A set of screws need to sink in, flush with a metal surface, in order to assemble. Screws do not sit flush so it cannot be assembled. Need screws with smaller heads so they sink further (Home Depot guys said they don’t exist in needed dimensions) or holes needed to be larger. Shd have heeded the 2 other reviews which said this. Had to return. Very disappointed because otherwise a sturdy feeling unit that I was surprised I wd have been able to install on my own. Even Home Depot guys said only solution wd require a drill press and I don’t have one of those (and shd not need one).

These have transformed my closet into a dream. So organized now and easy to find everything I need. It is simple to operate and I enjoy putting away my clothes now. I love having everything at eye level. I hired a handyman to install them in my built in closet to save space and be more organized. Otherwise there was a wasted shelf at the top I couldn’t reach. The handyman said it was a breeze to install. I am very happy with the functionality and design of the rods - not to mention the affordability. Great purchase for me.

Heavy and strong, just like how my husband wanted. Has options to install on the wall studs or cabinet. A feature very important to us that the popular name brands like Hafele or Rev-a-shelf do not offer. We installed on the 2x4s and it makes a lot of difference. The hydraulics on this are built well, and you can feel it when you try to install. Impressed for the price and quality. Stylish and fits my custom closet really well. My husband is 6’2” and 200lbs, so his clothes are tall and heavy. Other designs are feeble and you’d always be second guessing if they will fail or you’d find the clothes on the floor one day or worse yet rip apart your closet system. Ordered two and the consistency in quality is well appreciated.

Terrible quality! Bent the first time I added clothes to it and didn’t even fully load it up!! We specifically purchased it because it had a higher weight capacity. Waste of money. Incredibly disappointed with this purchase and will be seeking a refund.

Good product but really made for cubed closets ( walls on each side) not open walls. I had to put wood behind the silver lift bars to stop the clothing banging onto the back wall . Better instructions would help. There was a stop for the bar to stop the bar but no way to secure it so it just flipped up and then it hit the wall and clothes fell off

The pull down bar does not drop down smoothly and evenly. There is an issue with the hydraulics on one of the sides so when we pull down the bar, it thunks loudly near the bottom, and the bar tilts unevenly. We liked the build quality otherwise but it is clearly not usable as it is now.
