Can this be used for a right sided door opening?

Thank you for this question. Please watch this video from 10 seconds on to see how easy it is to rotate the lever from the default right handed to left handed orientation. If there are more questions, please do ask us, as we are always standing by to answer them!

It seems very hard to turn lock, is this normal or did I receive a malfunction lock?

We would like to express our gratitude for choosing the VACANTSPACE bathroom privacy indicator lock. We have full confidence in the craftsmanship of our VACANTSPACE privacy lock and back it up with our replacement guarantee. The operation of the thumbturn should be effortless when properly installed. However, there are two situations where you may encounter difficulty with the thumbturn. The first scenario is when the mounting plate is not perfectly centered within the door knob hole. Additionally, excessive tightening of the mounting plate can also lead to this issue. To resolve this, we recommend loosening the two mounting screws by one or two full turns, repositioning the lock plates and latch mechanism to ensure proper alignment, and then tightening the screws by hand, ensuring not to overtighten them. If the problem persists despite these adjustments, please remember that our product is covered by a one-year warranty. Don't hesitate to reach out to us through Amazon support, and we will initiate the warranty process to address your concerns promptly.
