It's one speaker only. And the box on the outside shows what it is. It's not a box with no print. So if you order online and its a gift make sure the person who it's for is not home to see it when it's delivered

Q: Can you put the speakers on a regular tripod ?

Yes you can, hole in bottom of speaker for stands. These speakers need a fairly powerful amp, they are 4 ohm..FYI but with right amp they perform well.
