Is the outer removable to clean?

No. There is a zipper but if you unzip, it’s just loose stuffing inside - no way to take the cover off or the stuffing would all come out.

This is a gift for my grand daughter. How fast can she expect to receive her gudetama?

Depending on where you live, it could take a while. We live in Kentucky and it took a couple of months. It's shipped from China I believe.
