I’ve played many Callaway irons all my life and these do not disappoint. Sweet point is an expected large area. Very consistent irons. I’ve tried may other irons in my decades of golfing but I’ve never felt more confident than with a Callaway in my hand. I don’t know if a good beginner iron, I would think yes. I can say average to low handicap they will not disappoint.
